Next Call of Duty in the Far Future?: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, although I can admit that I am not a huge Call of Duty fan I am one of very few people who actually enjoys playing through the campaign. However, I do like going on multiplayer telling people to get good or drink bleach. Regardless, I am still surprised that a new Call of Duty has been confirmed this early. Trust me, I am not surprised that there is going to be a new Call of Duty game for 2017.

If you want to check out the full details, then please check out this article from GameSpot and start seeing this new for yourselves.

Space Combat. Seriously, remember space combat in Call of Duty: Ghosts? Yeah, it was pretty hilarious! However, it would be cool and strange if we got to actually fly spaceships in this next Call of Duty. I think (and hope) that combat in space would be done in ships because then it would make a lot more sense.

Speaking about Ghosts, this is not going to be Ghosts 2. Sorry for everyone who actually wanted a sequel to that game. I only wanted a sequel if it provided closure to the first game's story because that ending did suck.

Nonetheless, I can't be the only one tired of future Call of Duty games am I? It's just getting boring now. Actually, I've been getting bored since Advanced Warfare even though I did have fun with that game. However, if this next Call of Duty is going to be totally Sci-fi then something innovative has to be done or people are just going to hate on this game much like Ghosts.

Xbox Live: Free Games of April 2016- So much better....

Hey Guys, I've had such a great day today and I hope you all had a great day. Actually, I'm having a horrible day since I got into one of my dream colleges, but I most likely won't be able to afford it. Anyways, that's besides the point.

April's Games with Gold have been revealed earlier today. I will show you what they are and will share my thoughts about them later.

On April 1st-30th, The Wolf Among Us will be free for Xbox One users. Then, from April 15th-May 15th, Sunset Overdrive will be free.

For Xbox 360 users, Dead Space will be free from April 1st-15th. Then, Saints Row IV will be free from April 16th-30th.

Okay, now onto my thoughts.

This month is so much better than the previous months that have passed. I played The Wolf Among Us on Xbox 360, but I never finished it since I never got the rest of the episodes, so I am excited to be able to actually finish it. I heard great things about Sunset Overdrive when it came out, but I never played it, so I feel great to be able to play it as well.

I played Dead Space 2, but I never played the first one before. I absolutely loved Saints Row The Third. I've always wanted to get into Saints Row IV, but I never got the chance to play it.

All in all, great job Microsoft! This is a great month and am excited to see what we get in May.

Why a more powerful PS4 would set a dangerous precedent

Hey Guys, I know that I might be totally late on this, but I feel the need that I have to go into a discussion about this. I'm going into this without as much bias as possible. I know that I'm not a PlayStation owner, nor am I into Sony products in general. However, Xbox is wanting to do the same thing for the Xbox One. Allow me to explain.

Apparently, Sony wants a more powerful PS4, so it could be able to output 4k gaming and be better compatible for the PlayStation VR, which is something I might talk about a later date or not. The PS4 can output 4k for pictures and I believe videos, but it can't do 4k gaming.

Here's what the problem is: this only proves how outdated the PS4 and Xbox One's hardware are! Most of us have already known how outdated the consoles are at this point, but this goes on to show that even the developers are finally realizing how outdated the hardware is.

Another problem I have is the cost of the upgrade. Do people have to purchase a totally new console or do they have to simply replace the graphics card- or something like that? How about people who don't want to upgrade to the more "powerful" PS4?-I use "powerful" loosely because PC will always be superior. They are going to be left in the dust with horribly rendered ports of new video games if Microsoft or Sony were to go through these upgrades.

You know who made a move this? Sega with the Sega Genesis. You want to know what happened to them as a result? They started to loose a lot of money. Once they finally lost a lot money, they had to leave the console wars. I think you know where I'm going with this.

In my opinion, they should have just waited to release the PS4 and Xbox One at a much later date in order to improve the quality of the hardware to actually compete with PC.

Will Xbox One and PS4 have cross-network play?

Hey Guys, before I go to talk about the main topic at hand I want to mention that the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4 will be releasing on March 22nd. You can check out the trailer on YouTube by clicking here. Anyways, let's get back to the topic.

Microsoft is now allowing cross-network play between PC and Xbox One owners and probably even PlayStation. However, it's up to Sony if they want PlayStation to be able to have cross-network play with Xbox One users.

Do you know how amazing this would be if this became a reality?

Not only will console fanboys just start dying off, but there would actually be a lot more people available to play with.

This is something that should have been done a long time ago. However, it really all does come down to developers if they want cross-network play. Seriously, this is something they just have to do. Sorry for the short article, I had to lose an hour of sleep.

The Metal Gear Solid Fan Remake is Cancelled: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, I was in such a good mood today. The weather was finally nice outside and a new episode of Better Call Saul is coming on tonight. However, there were actually two things that happened today that made me pretty upset. Lionhead Studios is being shut down, which means that Fable Legends is canceled. Additionally, the fan made Metal Gear Solid remake was canceled.

Although I would love to talk about the cancellation of Fable Legends, I have been playing Metal Gear Solid longer, so it really pains me to see that remake get canceled.

According to The Shadow Moses team, "We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control".

I have this feeling in my gut that tells me that this has Konami written all over this. They probably threatened the team to not say it was them who ordered the cancellation of the game in order to protect their reputation. Considering how far Konami dug themselves in their own graves, I would not be surprised if they did have something to do with the game's cancellation.

This remake had real potential just based on the trailer that dropped about a month ago. Everything about the trailer was just breathtaking and shows how far we've come in terms of graphical technology that a game made on PS1 can be remastered on next generation hardware.

It was also clear that this development team put in time and effort into this project while treating the franchise with great respect. It was something that Metal Gear fans would be totally willing to pay for.

Imagine if the game were not canceled. It would probably be a lot better than the original game in terms of gameplay of course. Additionally, it would have content that the orignal game did not have or may even improve the flaws (if any) that the original game had.

The Division is getting a Day 1 Patch: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, lately I've been playing some of the older Call of Duty games out of nostalgia. I've noticed that there is just so many crappy players specifically on Black Ops 1 and Ghosts. Additionally, I'm surprised that there are more players on Black Ops 1 than on Ghosts. Actually, I shouldn't be surprised because Ghosts is seen as the "worst" game in the series by bandwagoners.

Anyways, I'm just rambling at this point, so let me talk about this Day 1 patch that The Division is getting. If you want more information on the patch, just check out out on Gamespot.

I know that Day 1 patches are not new, but they sure are not a good sign by any means. I do not want to talk about The Division in particular, but I really want to focus on Day 1 patches in general. I do not want to be unfair towards The Division since it doesn't come out until Tuesday. Besides, I already expressed my concerns for the game in my previous articles.

A game should be at its peak performance before it launches instead of having to wait to fix it. Unless you are pre-loading a game on whatever platform you're on, these patches are going to make your install times longer. Yes, people still do buy physical games including myself.

That's not to say that all patches are bad. There are patches that actually give necessary improvements to a game, but if it's for aesthetic purposes then there is no need for a patch.
