Is PUBG THAT Bad on Xbox One?

Hey Guys, if you weren't aware PUBG recently released on the Xbox One and has already gathered controversy. Why? It's because there is a large number of reports being made about the game's performance on the Xbox One and the Xbox One X. I purchased this game day one knowing that I am getting a half finished game, but I wasn't aware of how bad the game runs on the console.

Image Provided by Forbes

You can have your own opinions on the game, but I'm talking about the game's performance on the console. You already know it's going to be a pain in the ass to aim with a controller, so I'm not going to complain about how the game controls. Besides, I personally believe that the game controls fine especially for a game that is clearly optimized for PC.

The framerate is what is seriously killing the experience. What in the world happened here? I get that Bluehole already confirmed the game was going to run at 30fps, but there are some serious fps drops that occur in the game.

You really start noticing it around the lobby when players start popping in and when you begin dropping into the map. I feel like the game's framerate starts to "smoothen" out close to 30fps when you start exploring the area. When people say that the game's framerate starts dipping every time you move, they aren't completely exaggerating. Depending on which part of the map you end up in and how many people are there, you're game is going to get a serious frame drop that will effect the gameplay.

For a Battle Royale game like this, framerate is going to make or break the experience. It will lead to unfair advantages to all players involved because it's going to be based purely on luck on who lands their shots the best. As I mentioned before, aiming with a joystick in this game is a bitch and most importantly there is no aim assist, so you pretty much have to be a console McCree main to hit your shots assuming the framerate is cooperating with you.

I'm not going to complain about the game's visiuals because I'm not too big on graphics and I'm aware that the quality of the graphics is going to take a dip when compared to its PC counterpart. However, draw distance isn't really that good on the console version. If someone is over 100ft away, you will see them as pixels. Meaning, you're probably not going to tell it's a human being.

I get the whole "game preview" thing, but it's clear that there was not enough time put into optimizing the game's performance on the Xbox One X or the base Xbox One. I'm playing the game on the base Xbox One, so I can say that the game isn't running good on it. There are even graphical issues that I barely touched on which do include pop-ins.

Did they really believe that this game was in a good state to be released on console? I don't understand why they just didn't spend more time focusing on the game's performance rather than just on the visuals. I bet a low-end gaming PC could perform better than the Xbox One version of the game.

Don't get me wrong. This is still PUBG. The game itself is fun. It's not a game for everyone especially if you don't like slow paced tactical shooters. However, if the game were to have a much better framerate then no complaints would be made about it. Well, besides the controls.

If there is truly no other way for you to play this game and you happen to have the Xbox One, then this wouldn't be a terrible choice, but you're better holding off until they manage to patch this framerate issue.

Update: Rise of Broketober 2017

Hey Guys, it's a big month for video games and entertainment as a whole. There are literally a lot of games that I would like to get this month that include The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein 2, and Super Mario Odyssey. Okay, I don't have a Nintendo Switch, but I really want to play Super Mario Odyssey.

This is just an article where I just get to type whatever comes to mind and talk about video games. I don't really have a particular structure as to what I'm going to be talking about, so just know that I'm going to be talking about one game and then move onto the next one. Additionally, people stop PMing about Destiny 2 because I won't be playing that anytime soon.

The Evil Within 2
Okay, The Evil Within 2. It's the month of Halloween, so why on Earth wouldn't you want to play a horror game? To be honest with you, I personally believe that The Evil Within is one of the most underrated horror video games in recent years. The gameplay feels very smooth and is reminiscent of Resident Evil in the survival horror department.

The Evil Within is a game that should be played on Hard because it forces you to think twice about using weapons. Additionally, it makes enemies a lot harder to take down. They were already annoying to take down because you have to burn them to make sure they didn't come back. At least, that's what I remember the game being like. It's been a long time since I have finished the game.

The story itself is also a very cool concept. The main protagonist and antagonist aren't really interesting to me because of the lackluster voice-acting performance of the protagonist and the generic characteristics of the antagonist. I guess you could say that about most of the characters because I felt that more character development should have been added into the game, but it's serviceable for what it is.

Forza Motorsport 7
I'm not much of a fan of racing games, but the Forza series is pretty cool to me. I only played Forza Motorsport 5 and really want to get into the Horizon series.

If you didn't already know, I have the Xbox One X pre-ordered and want to take advantage of its capabilities. Why not see how Forza Motorsport 7 performs? This is a damn good looking game and would look amazing in 4K HDR running at a beautiful 60fps.

I won't be getting this day one. I'm sure it'll go on sale by Black Friday as well as most 4K TVs, so I'll keep an eye out on this game.

Wolfenstein 2
Wolfenstein was a series that wasn't known for its story. The series was the basis of Doom. B.J Blazkowicz was the original character in the first first person shooter game ever created. This man has been kicking ass before Doomguy.

However, Wolfenstein took a new direction when The New Order released. The game actually had a decent story and B.J. Blazkowicz had more of a character to him. The New Order really succeeded in the gameplay department because you could play it full guns blazing or just play it stealthily. The voice acting was also pretty impressive for what it was. If you haven't played The New Order, then please go pick it up.

You need to personally watch gameplay of The New Colossus. For crying out loud, you start the game off killing Nazis in a wheelchair. I don't think I've ever seen a game do that before. Based on early impressions of the game, the characters are being more developed this time around and this game is taking place on American soil!

I'm a fan of Red Dawn and this game in particular is giving me that Red Dawn vibe, so I'm excited to see what this game has to offer in terms of story.

Final Ramblings
I'm considering getting a Nintendo Switch, but come holiday season it's going to be extremely hard to find. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are system sellers on their own, so it sucks I don't have the console to play them on.

Some other games I would like to get include Persona 5, The Sims 4, and Call of Duty: WW2. I didn't include them on this "list" since they aren't releasing in October. Well, Persona 5 and Nioh have been out I just didn't have the time to play them.

I'm looking forward to playing a lot of these games, but it's going to be tough trying to budget them. I'm going to try to get The Evil Within 2 this month. Also, I'm still working on that In Retrospect post. I'm sorry for the wait, so I'll do my best to have a double post this week to make up for that.

Xbox Live: Free Games of October 2017- A solid month...

Hey Guys, a lot has happened in the gaming news this week. The new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer was amazing and is just building up hype for the game. I just can't wait for the game to release. As tradition towards the end of the month, I will you my thoughts on the free games on Xbox. Just a little side note, PlayStation has a much better lineup of free games for next month.

Image Provided by Major Nelson's Blog

I heard good things about Gone Home. Keep in mind, not everyone is going to be into these types of games because it's based on exploration, atmosphere, and general puzzle solving. While I am interested in playing it, I'm not sure I'll be able to play it especially in Broketober.

The Turning Test has been put on sale so many times that it's not even funny. I was scared to play it because I'm terrible when it comes to puzzle games. It's very reminiscent of Portal, so that's the main reason why I would like to give it a try.

Alright, I'm a big fan of Rayman. While I already played Rayman 3, it's good to give it a re-visit. If you're not into platformers, then this is not the game for you.

Medal of Honor Airborne was a solid game back in the game, but it hasn't exactly aged well. I would give it a try to just see how it compares to what I remember it being like. Just looking at the game you could tell it looks pretty dated. However, the guys at Xbox have a quote when it comes to including first person shooters.

Anyways, it's a much better month for Xbox Live users. Personally, I prefer PlayStation's free games because they are getting Metal Gear Solid 5 next month. Sure, I played the hell out of it, but it's an amazing game.

Update: The plan ahead, Destiny 2, and other stuff

Hey Guys, just wanted to make a quick update as my viewership has gone down significantly. I'm not dead, but I have been busy for the past week.

Anyways, September isn't my month for games. I'm not buying Destiny 2 day one. Will I even buy it? Maybe I'll get it once every expansion pack releases for it, but that means that Destiny 3 will be released shortly after that happens. I hear it's better than the original game, but I still don't want to be grinding missions for three hours at a time.

I have the Xbox One X pre-ordered. I never mentioned this, but I had it pre-ordered on the day it was announced for pre-orders. The PS4 Pro is good, but I want to play my multi-platform games on my Xbox One X since they are going to run so much better. Although I don't have a 4K TV yet, the games on it are going to run a lot more smoothly. I'd rather have my games run at 1080p at 60fps than at 4K at 30fps.

After months of hiatus, I decided to go back to Rainbow Six Siege. The game has gotten a lot better over time, but the amount of players who are new to the game are just everywhere! Seriously, I just love this game and it's as good as I remember.

With October coming up, I should be able to post a bit more frequently. When the Xbox One X releases, I'll be sure to have a review for it.

The Importance of Timing Game Releases

Hey Guys, this is a topic that I feel should be talked about more often because people often overlook the development time for a game and when developers feel is the right time to release games. I recently stumbled upon an interview on Polygon where Shannon Loftis, general manager for Microsoft Studios Publishing, stated, "I think we probably announced Crackdown too early"(Loftis).
Image Provided by DualShockers

Okay, Crackdown 3 was announced back in June 2014. Literally, over three years at this point. Now, it's being pushed back into "Spring 2018". I say that in quotes because we don't know when in the Spring and we don't know if there is going to be another delay.

The usual development time is about 2 or 3 years. With that in mind, you'd think that Crackdown 3 would be released sometime between 2016 and 2017. However, Crackdown 3 was in very early development when it was announced. Additionally, the Xbox One wasn't even out for a full year at this point and Microsoft was talking about cloud computing...in a multiplayer game.

Cloud computing really hasn't been done before in a multiplayer game let alone on a console that hasn't been on the market for very long, so announcing Crackdown 3 will be utilizing cloud computing technology that early in development is absurd.

At the same time, I guess Microsoft wanted to release more exclusives because the community's main criticism is the lack of Xbox exclusive games. Thus, having people hyped up for Crackdown 3 is needed to keep Xbox users coming back or to have a new audience. However, this could have been announced at either E3 2016 or E3 2017.

It's also a good thing that this isn't being pushed around the holiday season because there are already enough games coming out in Broketober.

At the end of the day, we don't even know if Crackdown 3 is going to be good. For all we know, this could be another disappointment and we'll be talking about how this game was in development for years and how Microsoft has been hyping this game up to be the definitive Xbox exclusive fans have been asking for. Is this game really going to take advantage of the Xbox One X's power? We don't know.

If Microsoft-or at least someone from Microsoft-admitted that Crackdown 3 was announced too early, then you know something is wrong. I guess we can be thankful that they don't want to rush the release. However, let this be a lesson that video games should pick a schedule and stick to it. Don't release a game too early that we need to wait for it to be finished or release a game too late to where it could lead to it being either disappointing or forgotten about.

Xbox Live: Free Games of September 2017- A halfway decent month...

Hey Guys, I can't believe that August is almost over. I also can't wait until the cold weather starts coming as it's the perfect sign that Broketober is coming! Anyways, the next free batch of games for Xbox Live Gold members have been announced. Let's get down to it.

Image Provided by Major Nelson's Blog

I've never been a big fan of racing games, but Forza Horizon 3 caught my eye despite the fact that I've never played any of the Forza games. I hear the main difference between the Horizon and Motorsport series is that one is on a race track while the other is not. Although I'd prefer to go into the Horizon series, I'll try out Forza Motorsport 5 to see if I'll get into it. I want to make sure that racing games will catch my interest.

Never heard of Oxenfree. The gameplay style doesn't really capture my interest. I'm sorry, but I just don't like the look of the game.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane. Whoa. That's quite a mouthful. It looks like a typical racing game with boats. I know I said that I'll try Forza Motorsport 5, but at least it has loud engines and wheels. Additionally, I'd imagine the player count is low for the multiplayer aspect and I don't feel like racing AI.

I remember being in love with Battlefield 3 when it first came out. I played the game on console and haven't thought much about it. When it became backwards compatible, I got a chance to replay it. Little did I know that this game aged TERRIBLY. Oh my god, it looks awful on console. How were my eyes able to stand looking at this game on a console!? Please, if you've never played Battlefield 3 on console then don't start now.

That's everything from Xbox. Sorry that I haven't been posting much. I'm doing my best to write as much as possible.

Assassin's Creed Origins: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, I think we all knew that this was coming. Personally, I'd prefer if Ubisoft just left the license alone, but I'll give them a shot at how they can improve the franchise after sales of the games started to decline. After seeing gameplay from Microsoft's E3 conference, I have quite an opinion on the game a lot of you may not expect.

Image Provided by Xbox

At its core, this is pretty much the same gameplay style that Assassin's Creed is known for. However, the combat is something that I am optimistic about. You can tell that it's no longer button mashing and is very reminiscence of another game that I know that stars a professional monster slayer who loves playing cards in his spare time.

Okay, you can even argue that the combat is similar to Dark Souls. No longer will a group of guys try to fight you one-on-one. They're going to attack you at the same time to make sure you're dead. I guess they're trying to go in Assassin's Creed Unity's direction in terms of making the game more difficult. Assassin's Creed Syndicate was way too easy despite enemy difficulty being based on what level you are.

Do I even have to mention the visuals? This easily has to be one of the best looking games shown at E3. I am a bit disappointed that I haven't experienced the gameplay in 4K with HDR. Seriously, the environment just looks so alive especially with wildlife just doing their own business.

There are two major issues that I have with this game that I do want to talk about: the story and the open-world environment.

If you haven't noticed in recent years, the story for Assassin's Creed hasn't been strong. Some people like the story and others hate it. Personally, I haven't found them to be interesting since Assassin's Creed III. The future story got fucked up so bad that it just seems to get worse every time it "progresses". Seriously, does anyone even remember the story from the previous games? Honestly, I feel like they need focus their attention to the future timeline since it used to be interesting at one point in time!

Personally, I thought Assassin's Creed IV had a solid story in the past timeline; otherwise, it was the first game that saw the decline in quality in the future timeline. However, I would be happy if Origins has a solid past story and shit future story rather than a shit past story and shit future story.

This is an Ubisoft game. Do we really trust them with an open-world game nowadays? I can already see this being similar to Ghost Recon: Wildlands. A huge open world with not much to do. You're probably going to end up doing the same activities that were featured in Assassin's Creed IV. Hell, the eagle mechanic looks like something from Far Cry Primal if you think about it.

One way I feel like they can avoid an empty open-world is to add an ass load of interesting side quests. Yes, that's the second time I referenced The Witcher 3 in one post. However, I'm being dead serious. At least that can justify having a world as large at this one.

I really don't want this game to be bad. I desperately want it to rejuvenate the franchise, but I just can't trust Ubisoft to make it work. After all, they are the reason why most of their open-world games end up being criticized.

Metro: The Underrated Franchise

Hey Guys, with the announcement of Metro: Exodus I feel like it's time to have a talk about the series as a whole. Personally, I wasn't expecting to see another game in the franchise due to the events of the previous games, but anyways let me get back on topic. I'm going to speak broadly because both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light have the same gameplay.

Image Provided by Polygon

Metro has to be one of the most immersive post-apocalyptic, first person shooters of all time. When was the last time you played a game where you played a survival horror game where your character can fight back, yet feel so hopeless at the same time? This game isn't full of jump scares, but it gets your adrenaline pumping when you have to deal with overpowering foes with limited ammo.

There are horror elements in the game. You spend most of your time alone either navigating the underground Metro or out in the open with dangerous creatures. Yes, you have to deal with both human and mutant enemies. Stealth is an option and is strongly recommended to use stealth if you are playing on higher difficulties.

This is one of few games where you should be playing at the highest level. You're not going to have the same experience of this game by playing it on easy compared to playing it on hard mode. In hard mode, you don't even have an HUD that tells you where to go. Additionally, you have to think about every move and action you make because it's incredibly easy to be killed on the higher difficulties.

On levels when you're on the surface, you have to worry about both your health and air filter. That's right, you should always be keeping your eyes out for air filters; otherwise, you're going to suffocate to death due to the radiated air outside. While it can lead to some frustrating moments when you are caught outside without any more air filters, it provides an incentive to explore the area around you.

If you aren't familiar with the plot of Metro, all you really need to know is that there was a nuclear war that devastated the world leading the survivors taking shelter in the underground Metro system in Russia. That's right, Russia. Imagine nuclear winter. It's amazing how any of them are even alive. I guess this also created the main enemies of the game "the Dark Ones". The name may be generic, but the dark ones don't play around. Those guys will tear you to shreds if you don't play your cards right especially on those higher difficulties.

The plot itself isn't half bad. I'm not going to spoil anything, but if you haven't played the game or the novels you're in for a treat as this game has a surprise behind the main enemies. You're just going to have to play the games to know what I'm talking about.

If you missed these gems from the previous generation, you can get them both on Xbox One and PS4 with Metro: Redux. I highly recommend you play them to really understand what I'm talking about. It's dirt cheap and is usually put on sale digitally, so there is no excuse as to why you shouldn't play this game unless you're not into this kind of genre.

Friday the 13th The Game: Review

Hey Guys, it's been a long time since I did a review for a game. What better time to release a review for Friday the 13th The Game? Okay, before I go to talk about the game itself, let me tell you about the current situation.

Friday the 13th: The Game is a mess. I would be dishonest if I didn't tell you how broken this game can be at times. Server issues are still plaguing the game as of writing this, so good luck getting into a quick match. I'm not sure how it's like on the PC and PS4 versions of the game, but Xbox One servers are just garbage at the moment.

If you're on the Xbox One version, always join a private match via the "looking for group" function through the game hub. Private match is peer to peer connection, so if the host has quick internet then you should experience less lag and less disconnection.

Okay, let me go to the review.

Image Provided by Bleeding Cool

What I Hated
Normally, I like to start off with what I liked, but I'll start off with the negatives.

The number of maps you could play on this game is extremely limited. There are only a total of three maps you can play on. Maybe it was done on purpose, but we don't necessarily have to stay true to the movies. We could always have more camp related maps. It's something they could add in a future update, but it would have been more beneficial to include more maps.

Rolling perks can be extremely frustrating. I understand that it's done to keep the game balance, but understand that it takes a while to earn points in order to roll for a new perk. While you can sell back the perks you have, you have a chance of still getting duplicate perks after selling them. I've never been a fan of random drops, so naturally I'm not going to enjoy them in any game.

Even though the game was patched, there are still a few bugs and glitches. However, they are more hilarious than exploitative. Before the game was patched on the Xbox One version, there was a glitch where you could place a bear trap very close to a cabin door that can prevent Jason from entering the cabin. Nothing is more annoying than seeing a player use a glitch in order to win the game. Where is the honor is using glitches to win the game?

The progression system doesn't feel rewarding in my opinion. You only receive extra counselors, more clothing options for the counselors, and extra Jason skins. You also get credit points in order to purchase perks and Jason's executions. It's standard stuff.

What I Liked
Despite the fact that Jason has all these abilities, the game is pretty balanced. Yes, Jason can pretty much kill you instantly if he grabs a hold of you, but taking the time to search around the map for a pocket knife will lead to a counter.

It's great that the game forces you to explore the map for the supplies you need to survive and/or escape Jason. The amount of time it takes to escape depends on the coordination of the counselors. You can even have some funny moments. There are some hilarious ways of getting murdered by Jason such as randomly running into him by turning a corner or something.

I love the fact that Jason can hear you and you can hear him. Nothing is more enjoyable than having a trash talking Jason. It just makes the entertainment a whole lot better.

Teamkilling is extremely helpful. Before you gasp in shock, hear me out. It gets rid of the trolls. If I remember correctly, people were able to block cars from moving by standing in front of it. It's just a godsend to be able to kill someone who is trying to screw you over.

Final Thought: Price Drop
If you are a fan of the Friday the 13th franchise or like the cat-and-mouse style of game, there is no reason why you should miss out on this game. It's just a great game at its core, but it's just plagued with connection problems and bugs.

It's nothing a patch can fix, but at its current state it's not worth rushing out and getting it. This is a type of game that can benefit from updates, so I'm sure that a couple of months from now it'll be a lot better than when it initially launched. There is even a story mode that will be added to the game sometime in the summer, so that's something to look forward to.

As a final thought, I think this is a game that the critics got wrong. This is not one of the most disappointing games of 2017, so I just get pissed whenever I see this game get labeled as such.

Xbox One X: My Thoughs

Hey Guys, wow it's been probably over two weeks since I've written anything. Well, I promise I'm going to make up for it this month due to E3. I've been busy playing some Friday the 13th and actually wrote a review. I'll be sure to post it sometime this week, so look forward to that. Anyways, let me continue to share my thoughts on Microsoft's new console.
Image Provided by The Verge

Look, I'm not going to get in on Xbox's E3 briefing. Even though I saw the whole thing live, I was really paying attention to the amount of times that "Exclusive" has been said. I'm joking, but I was looking forward to the Xbox Scorpio reveal, which is now known as Xbox One X.

At a glance, this is a pretty good design. While I am not a big fan of the black color on this console that we'll be getting at launch, it's still a beautiful console. It's great to know that this is going to be a tiny console. Well, it's most likely smaller than the PS4 slim and maybe a bit smaller than the Xbox One S. Regardless, its size doesn't hold up the amount of horsepower this beat has.

While it's impossible to experience the true 4K capabilities of the console unless you've been at the show yourself, you can tell that the games just look a hell of a lot better than they would on the standard Xbox One. However, I feel like 4K has been overly stressed during this presentation rather than the performance of the games. If you watch gameplay of Anthem, you'll know what I mean by this. Are these games going to be able to run at 4K 60fps that it's been said it could?

The price is something that I consider fair. $499 was the launch price of the standard Xbox One with Kinect, so I would say that I'm quite surprised that this console isn't way over $499. Good on you Microsoft!

Honestly, we didn't really learn anything new. about the console other than the price and the release date. It's great we've seen gameplay, but I don't think we've seen what this console is truly capable of. All these numbers, but we didn't see enough games that are graphically demanding.

I'm not going to give my thoughts on the conference itself, so that's why I'm not going super in depth about what Xbox did right during the show and what they did wrong. All I'm doing is going over my thoughts on the console itself.

Maybe I'll make a post talking about the conference, but we'll see what happens. You can pick up the console on November 7th, 2017. This isn't a bad console, but I just wish that we could see what this bad boy can really do.

Friday the 13th: The Game Release Disaster

Hey Guys, just wanted to make a quick update as to what I'm doing with Friday the 13th. As of right now, the game is live for Xbox One users, but it's a shit storm of a release because some people can see it in the store while others cannot.
As of writing this, it's not on my Xbox Store...

Okay, I got home at around 12:40 in the morning hoping to download this game to play when I do wake up. What do I find at the Xbox Store? No Friday the 13th. The game was supposed to release at 11:00pm Central Standard Time, so what the hell happened?

After going back and forth on Twitter, Microsoft fucked up. I don't know what the hell they were doing, but it took them hours before the game became live. Even though the game is live, I couldn't find the game on the Xbox Store! It's on the Microsoft Store, but I guess the website is flooded because I couldn't even get on the fucking page!

The only reason I was fortunate enough to buy the game because some dude on Twitter shared his gamercard for people to find the game on his profile, so they could see it in the store.

The game is less than 4GB, so it shouldn't take too long to download. I'll be playing this as soon as it's finished. I also hope that Microsoft could get its shit together, so more people know that this game is available to download. How the hell is it fair that different regions are getting the game while others are not? The game should have been released for everyone, but I guess Xbox Support doesn't give a shit about the customer.

I'm sure the game is available for everyone on the PS4 verion. If you're having problem trying to download this game, please send me a message and I'll give you my gamertage, so you get the game from the store.

Xbox Live: Free Games of June 2017- One of the better months...

Hey Guys, I know I'm a day late to this, but I literally had to go to work as soon as these games were revealed. I really wasn't expecting much for next month, but I was pleasantly surprised by the games that are being offered for free.
Image Provided by GameSpot

How come Xbox 360 users are getting much better games than Xbox One users? I'm not saying that the games we're getting on Xbox One are garbage, but I mean we should be getting some more better quality games than last-gen consoles.

What the hell is Speedrunners? I see that it's a racing game, but why the hell are most of the games we're getting for free on Xbox One are side-scrollers? Admittedly, I'm picky when it comes to side-scrollers because they really have to be something innovative in order for me to be interested in. I know that sounds vague, but it's just to show how picky I am.

If you never played Watch Dogs before, then please play it as soon as it becomes free. It's a pretty fun games once you get past the initial disappointment of the games back in 2014. Sure, there are much better open world games, but this is free and a pretty damn good game at free.

I've never heard of Phantom Dust, but I like the idea that free DLC is a bonus offer to gold members. Honestly, I feel like this should be done a lot more often.

Assassin's Creed III is a great game. Sure, when I first played it I was still upset over the fact that this marked the first game where Ezio wasn't the playable assassin, but I still loved this game. I'll personally play it again because the game still has some great features like hunting that I've never really explored when I initially played it.

Dragon Age: Origins maybe an old game, but it's also a good game. Dragon Age as a series is a pretty good franchise. The last Dragon Age game I've played was Inquisition and that released back in 2014.

That's it for me today. June is a promising month. I'm not sure how July is going to look like, but I'm going to be busy playing a shit load of Overwatch and Friday the 13th.

Xbox Live: Free Games of May 2017- Not for everyone...

Hey Guys, I know this news is late, but I guess it's better late than never. I know there was a lot of important news in the gaming industry like the discontinuation of the NES Classic Edition and the announcement of the new Call of Duty. I'll be giving my thoughts on the new Call of Duty game once the world premiere occurs. Anyways, let's continue with my worthless opinion.

It's been a while since I played any Tomb Raider game. The last one I played was Rise of the Tomb Raider and I have yet to complete that. I think I got stuck on one of the optional tombs and haven't returned to it. Maybe I'll check out this Lara Croft game, but I'm not a fan of the gameplay style of this particular game.

I seriously hate when games people have never heard of are made for free. What the hell is Gianna Sisters? Why not make another game for free that is around the same price!?

Lego games are actually pretty fun. However, not everyone is going to like the Lego games even if is Star Wars themed. I might check this out once it releases, but I don't know anybody who is willing to play it with me. Believe me, the Lego games are so much fun when you are playing with someone else.

I never played any of the Force Unleashed games. I heard the second one was a mixed bag. I'm not sure if I'm going to touch it since I didn't play the first one when it was free. Could be that I'm not a big Star Wars guy or I just don't have as much time as I like to be playing video games.

Before I leave, just know that Xbox One owners got scarred for May. One of them looks decent enough, but this is really divisive. Some people are going to like the gameplay others are not. I'll see you guys next time when the new Call of Duty game is revealed.

Star Wars Battlefront II: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, the gaming community as well as Star Wars fan are buzzing about the recent announcement of Star Wars Battlefront II, which will be released on November 17th, 2017.
Image Provided by Den of Geek

I'm going to start off with the positive. It's a cool idea that pretty much every character from both the new and old Star Wars films will be appearing in the game. How they'll be balanced is beyond me, but fans are going to be happy about this nonetheless.

The visuals just capture the Star Wars feeling. This is just a game that looks and feels like Star Wars much like the original game.

Additionally, no Season Pass! I was surprised to even hear this especially when it's coming from EA. However, they want to try something "different". Who the hell knows what that means? Honestly, the DLC should be free and the game's longevity would be prolonged. The original game's playerbase dropped significantly around the three months it originally released.

What disappointing me was the amount of players that could be on one server, which is 40. This is Battlefront! Why couldn't we get 64 players?

However, this game is going to be class based, so it's possible this is going to a lot less causal than the original game where a lot of the criticism was drawn at. While I prefer to not see a Call of Duty approach to it, I don't want this to be a reskin of Battlefield.

The one thing that has to be mentioned is the inclusion of a campaign mode! Finally! Even though DICE is the developer, it's great that EA is giving them time to actually work on both. I do hope the campaign is actually good.

Before I go, I just want to give a PSA to NOT PRE-ORDER. Even though it looks like DICE is doing what they can to improve the game, this is still being published by EA, so anything could happen.

Update: RIP Wallet, Xbox Scorpio, and Stuff

Hey Guys, just wanted to make an update post since it's been a while. Today, I'm going to talk about the Xbox Spring Sale, the price of the Xbox Scorpio and something unplanned.

Xbox Spring Sale
Anyways, the Xbox Spring Sale starts tomorrow and I really can't buy anything at the moment since part of my tuition bill is due next week, so I'm incredibly pissed about that. I would have loved to catch Watch Dogs 2 on sale as I beat the first one about a month ago. Maybe I'll get one game that is less than $20, but I can't be spending anything more than that.

Xbox Scorpio
With the specs finally revealed for the Xbox Scorpio, I see a lot of negative feedback about it mostly from PC elitist. Look, it's a console. A very powerful console. It's not going to compete with a PC that is installed with a GTX 1080. However, it is impressive that the console is going to be running games at native 4K at 60fps. I thought that would be a stretch, but I guess Microsoft is going to pull it off.

I'm not a graphics whore or anything, but 4K at 60fps is just erection worthy. I don't think every game will run like that, but it's still impressive nonetheless from a console.

A lot of speculations are being made about the price. I've seen price predictions from $400 to $900. Keep in mind that when the Xbox One initially released with the Kinect it was $500. The PlayStation 4 Pro is only $400. Assuming that the Xbox Scorpio is being released without a bundle, I would imagine that $500 is a fair price point. If that son of a bitch is going to be $400 or $450, then you bet it's going to sell like hotcakes.

Persona 5 Streaming Situation
This has got to be one of the most controversial moves that Atlus or any game developer has made so far this year. To make a long story short, Atlus worked their asses off on Persona 5 and don't want Western players to be spoiled on the game's plot, so they are going hard on people who stream Persona 5 story gameplay.

You can show certain parts of the story, but not much else. If you do stream more of Persona 5's story, you're going to get hit with copyright issues.

Fair use is literally being ignored by the world. However, a lot of scumbags in the world are going to try to find a loophole in the system, so they can abuse content creators for this kind of bullshit.

Are they going to censor websites that discuss the game too? What about Wikipedia where you can literally read the game's plot? This kind of thing will literally make you want to give up hope in humanity because of how little respect we have for one another.

Now that I have my ramblings out of the way, I'm done for today. Not sure what else is going to be new for this week, but I'm going to try to have six posts this month.

Xbox Live: Free Games of April 2017- Good enough...

Hey Guys, yesterday the free games for Xbox Live members have been announced. Of course, I'll be giving my opinions on the games even though I've played two of them.

Image Provided by Major Nelson's Blog
I heard Ryse: Son of Rome was more of a tech demo rather than a video game. Seriously, I remember just looking at the game in awe. However, the gameplay just seems too monotonous. Maybe I'll give it try, but I'm probably going to forget about it.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 is a great game. If you have not played it, please do yourself a favor and download it as soon as it becomes free. If you loved the first season, you're going to love the second season. Season 3 is available as well, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy it.

I couldn't get into Darksiders II. It's just not for me. I don't think it's a bad game by any means, but I'm sure I'm not going to be playing Darksiders.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is one of my least favorite games in the franchise. While it was satisfying in ending the story of Ezio, I just didn't like the setting and the gameplay was ripped right out of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I would say play it if you haven't, but only if you have played the previous games in the series. Otherwise, you're going to be lost as to what's going on.

Overall, it's a solid month for Games with Gold. Will I be playing them? Maybe. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to go play some Overwatch.

Xbox Game Pass: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, what do you get if you mix merge Netflix and gaming? Other than PlayStation Now, you get the Xbox Game Pass. What exactly is the Xbox Game Pass, let me explain and give my almost useless opinion to you all.
Image Provided by Major Nelson's Blog

For $9.99 a month, you get access to "100s" of games available for download on your Xbox One and Xbox 360. However, Windows 10 users will not be able to benefit from this program. However, keep in mind that the games available are time limited, so there are new games avaible each month.

If you have any interest in any of the game you play through the service, you can buy it at a 20% discount. Alright, now onto my thoughts.

I have mixed thoughts on this. Even though there are services like GameFly and Redbox that already allow video game rentals, it's convenient and cost-efficient to be going using this serive. Sure, it may suck that they are time-limited, but a month is more than enough time for someone to tell if they will be interested in buying a game.

The major question is: what games will be featured with the service? Will they be those games nobody cares about that Microsoft usually makes free or will they be games from years ago?

I'm surprised that this service is only $9.99, so that's what is making me a bit nervous as to the quality of games that will be featured in the service.

Xbox Live: Free Games of March 2017- A better month....

Hey Guys, it's been almost two weeks since I posted anything. Not much was going on and I've been busy with school to be keeping track of anything. I'll do a double post this week as I actually got my tax refund a week ago and picked up a couple of games. Anyways, it's time to get into the free games that will be given to Xbox Live users for March.

Image Provided my Major Nelson's blog

After months of disappointments, things are looking solid for Xbox in March. Specifically, Xbox One users will be given significantly better games than previous months.

I've heard mixed reactions for Layers of Fear. I like to play horror games, so this might be up my alley whether it's scary or not. It's free, so how can I argue against it?

Evolve. Where do I even begin? Even though I've never played the game, I've heard the fanbase pretty much was DOA. Seriously, I remember this game being on almost Destiny-level hype and by a week the player base was dead. Why this wasn't already free to play on consoles is beyond me, but I guess it doesn't hurt to play the game for myself.

What the hell is Heavy Weapon? Maybe it's good? Maybe it's not? It just doesn't appeal to me, so I'm going to hold my judgement.

I literally can't say enough about Borderlands 2. Why they couldn't make the Xbox One version free doesn't make much sense to me. It's a shame that I played the game already and don't have the time to go back and replay the game from the beginning.

Before I close out, I want to mention that I'm looking forward to Horizon Zero Dawn and reviews came out a week in advanced. It wasn't under my radar, but so far I'm caught up in the hype. I just need to make the time to even play the games I currently have to play Horizon.

Xbox Live: Free Games of February 2017- I question my existence...

Hey Guys, this may be totally irrelevant to the topic at hand, but Resident Evil 7 recently released yesterday and the reviews are looking good. I'm doing my best to avoid watching gameplay from it because I think it would be best to play the game blind. Not sure when I'm going to get it, but I'm sure I'll have it within the next two weeks.

Anyways, Xbox has announced its free games for February and my God are they bad. I mean it's much better than what we got this month in terms of Xbox 360 games.

Image Provided by Major Nelson's blog

I don't understand why Xbox One users are the ones to suffer in terms of game quality. I'm sure there are plenty of good games that are a couple of years old that can be made for free. Hell, why not make Rocket League free for Xbox One users? I own the game and feel like more people should be playing the game due to its cross-play features.

I'm not much into racing games, so Project Cars isn't going to appeal to me. What in the world is Lovers? How many 2-D Xbox One games are we going to get? Well, the world may never know.

I've heard The Force Unleashed was a good game, so it can't be all bad this month as usual for the Xbox 360 games. I am definitely going to try to play it, but I need to finish Uncharted 4 before I go start on another game.

What's up with Xbox and this Monkey Island franchise? How many of these games are going to be free? I literally have no interest to be play anything Monkey Island related. Seriously, has anybody been downloading any Monkey Island game? If so, then I hope you reconsider your life decisions because that's only going to give Xbox the idea to keep putting more Monkey Island games in Games with Gold.

Anyways, I'm done here for today. Maybe there will be more hope next month. This month there was only one major AAA game that released and I think most people will be talking about Resident Evil 7 until the next couple of PS4 exclusive games come out next month.

Xbox Live: Free Games of January 2017- Xbox Done

Hey Guys, the next batch of free games for Xbox Live users have been revealed. This month's games weren't all that bad and Outlast was easily the saving grace to that. However, next month's games are literally a mixed bag. Allow me to explain.

I don't know what Xbox Live has against Xbox One users. I'm not saying that the games selected for Xbox One are bad, but they are incredibly disappointing. Killer Instinct is a game that never really caught my attention. I'm not big on fighting games, so naturally I'm not going to enjoy the game

World of Van Helsing just looks like a generic over-the-top game, so easily this has to be the worst of the batch of games for January.

The Cave looks like an okay game. The platforming might be fun, but otherwise the game itself doesn't seem like anything special. After the whole Mighty Number 9 incident, I think 2D platforming really should be getting a revamp or something to stay relevant.

Rayman Origins was already made for free on Xbox One. Why on Earth make it free again? I really do hate it when Xbox decides to pull moves like this because it takes away from getting to play a different game.

I'm done for today. I'm thinking of making another game pickups post by Friday or Saturday. It depends how many games I'm willing to buy this Christmas weekend or early next week.
Till Next Time!!
