Hey Guys, it's been 6 years since Halo Wars first released. The game was met with generally positive reviews from critics, but fans has mixed feelings about the game.
During Gamescom, Microsoft announced that Halo Wars 2 is set to release on Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2016.
With the news out of the way, I have to ask a serious question. Was anyone looking forward to a Halo Wars 2 game? Don't get me wrong, Halo is a great franchise, but most Halo fans usually look forward to the main series rather than spin-offs.
I don't know anyone who said, "Man I'm totally looking forward to Halo Wars 2!". A lot of people were probably surprised about the announcement because nobody was expecting it to be released! Is the RTS genre really that popular anymore.
Well, RTS is actually a very popular genre, but it's not meant for Halo. People would probably want another Company of Heroes or Starcraft game. Most people associate Halo as this first-person, science fiction shooter. It really wasn't made for RTS, but it did work when it first released back in 2009.
Halo Wars is not a bad game, but it's a game that will not please every Halo fan. Maybe massive Halo fans will love it, but most casual Halo fans will probably want the first-person shooter they've always been more aware of. Not everyone is good at RTS.
Till Next Time!!
