Report: Xbox Dashboard Update on 25 November

Microsoft targets Black Friday for its dashboard refresh.

UK, October 10, 2011

Microsoft will refresh the Xbox 360's dashboard on November 25, according to sources close to GigaOM.

If true, the update will bring a host of new features on Black Friday, including HBO and Verizon apps in the US and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

The report also states that the new apps will be built, for the most part, using Microsoft Silverlight, an application framework used for writing and running rich internet applications.

"The goal is to quickly mature the platform, with the potential of enabling other third-party developers to eventually use the Lakeview framework to build their own apps for the Xbox 360 console," says GigaOM.

Looking forward to the facelift? What apps would you like to see on your dashboard?

I just want to know if there will finally be Internet on the new update. And if all the apps will be free, we would all want to know that.
Till Next Time!!
