Xbox Live: Free Games of September 2015

Hey Guys, Major Nelson revealed the latest batch of games that will be free for Xbox Live Gold members starting on September 1st.

Image provided by Major Nelson's blog.

Deer God will be free throughout the month while Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be available from September 16th to October 15th.

On Xbox 360, Battlestations: Pacific will be from September 1st to the 15th and will be replaced by Crysis 3.

Okay, now it's time for my thoughts. Microsoft did average for this month. The best game out of these 4 has to be Tomb Raider! Crysis 3 was pretty good, but that's a game that is meant to be played on PC. It still looks good on console, but it doesn't look as good on PC.

I've been waiting for sometime to play Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition to see exactly how different it was from the last-gen version. I hear the major difference is the visuals. I thought Tomb Raider looked pretty good on last-gen consoles, so I can't wait to see how it looks on Xbox One!

I don't know about you guys, but I don't even know if I'll even have the time to play these games since Metal Gear Solid V is coming out.

Metal Gear Solid V's Reviews are Insane!

Hey Guys, if you didn't already know reviews of Metal Gear Solid V have been releasing yesterday. We already knew the game was going to be good, but "good" is a big understatement to describe this game. Just look at these scores...

I swear I didn't edit this. You can check this out right here on VG247

I'm positive that we all expected this game to be good, but apparently not THIS good. However, it seems reviews happen to criticize the same thing which is the story. I've seen that most of them are mixed. IGN believes it to be "sparse" while GameSpot says that it has a rather weak conclusion. Apparently, there is also this paywall that GameSpot was talking about for the multiplayer, but I don't really think it should be a concern until the multiplayer portion of this game releases.

Should the game receive a 10 even though the story may not be as good? Honestly, I really don't think it matters. Critics universally loved the gameplay! There is just so much content in this game that it really doesn't matter that the story may not be that good. How would we know there is a lot of content? The game is way too long to complete before actually releasing it on September 1st. Seriously, I bet most reviewers wouldn't be able to finish it in time if they received their review copies three days before the game releases.

If anything, more games should have early reviews like this! Think about that for a second. If critics got to release early reviews for games, then people would know whether to buy it or not. Pre-orders for this game are going to rise for this game! I don't even know if I'll have time to review this game seeing how long it's going to be. However, it should be safe to say that this game is worth full price.

Before I end this, these reviews were coming from the PS4. I don't know anything about the last-gen versions of the game, but there really is no reason for anybody who doesn't have a current-gen console to buy this game.

Why Rainbow Six Siege's release date delay is alarming

Hey Guys, if you didn't already know. Rainbow Six Siege was delayed to December 1st due to the fact that Ubisoft is planning on making improvements to the game. On the other hand, the closed beta will begin on September 24th, 2015 as planned. Anyways, give me a chance to explain why this is a good thing.

Remember who the developer is? Ubisoft. The same company that launched the completely broken Assassin's Creed: Unity and the disappointing Watch Dogs.

In all seriousness, how many times was Watch Dogs delayed? I really can't come up with a number off the top of my head, but I know it had to be more than twice. You think that Ubisoft would improve the game during the time it was delayed, but it was obvious that no such work occurred.

The driving controls were awful, the main character wasn't very interesting, and the hacking was a pretty big disappointment. Trust me, they could have improved two out of three things I just mentioned!

They didn't fix Assassin's Creed: Unity until much later, so players were still left with the game's many bugs and glitches. Imagine how angry people were that they paid $60 for a game that was broken!

Do we really trust Ubisoft to really improve Rainbow Six Siege? Who's to know if this game is disappointing or not. If this game does turn out good, then I owe an apology to Ubisoft, but I'm still concerned for the status of this game.

A Response to Travis Pope's Article, "$299 Xbox One Deal is The Best Savings in Gaming"

Hey Guys, my good friends at Gottabemobile created another click-bait article. However, I'm positive they really don't care. I sent my original response to Adam Mills a long time ago and he never responded. If there is anything I hate so much, is people who don't respond to their e-mails. This action only shows that these guys don't really care what they post as long as people still click on it. However, "constructive criticism" is still my thing that they can't argue with.

You can check out the article right here. I'll pull out key quotes from the article in order to show you why this article is complete garbage.
  • "The retailer allows gamers to trade in their used consoles, accessories, and equipment for store credit towards other items"(Pope). GameStop literally did this back when both the PS4 and Xbox One were still new and this was back in early-to-mid 2014. As a matter of fact, they had a layaway program for the Xbox One! To this day, you can still trade in your old console to upgrade it to a new current-gen system. You'll know why I put a strong emphasis on "new" in just a second.
  • "Best Buy warns that used consoles purchased from it are sold without the original packaging. Additionally, some 'parts and accessories' could be missing"(Pope). If you haven't already guessed by reading this, this literally means that this $299 Xbox One only pertains to pre-owned consoles which may not even be complete. I'm literally looking on the webpage right now and this is the first thing I see....
I'm not making this up. You can check it out here

Much like what I said back in my Adam Mills rebuttal, why would I pay for something that is not complete? You don't even get a game with this "Best Savings in Gaming". You're going to have to spend close to $349 if either you want to buy a brand new video game or have to pay for any missing accessory! Additionally, you're going to want to invest in the warranty because remember that this is still a pre-owned console. I don't know about you guys, but I always make sure to pay for the warranty for any pre-owned product in the event that something does happen to it.

He then goes on to show evidence that Best Buy has the lowest price of any store on an Xbox One, but this is only for a pre-owned console! Seriously, you're better off paying $349 for a brand new Xbox One bundle since they actually come complete along with a game or two!

Additionally, I've seen people selling their Xbox One consoles on Craigslist far below $300 and even $200. Usually I wouldn't recommend going on Craigslist for consoles, but sometimes you do get very lucky!

Please, don't listen to this guy. He has no idea what he is talking about. It may be true that Best Buy has the cheapest pre-owned Xbox One console; however, you're better off paying the $349. There really is no defending this article.

Meet the OUYE! Mother of God....

Hey Guys, a lot of people tend to use pharmacy toys as a last minute gift for a child's birthday and these toys are never heard of. Most of them are knock-offs since they are simply pharmacy toys. Anyways, China is known for creating knock-off products. Chances are, you've either seen one or used one yourself.

However, this time they decided to make a knock-off console called the OUYE. Doesn't the name just sound familiar? Yeah, I forgot about the OUYA as well. Not only does it knock-off the name but look at the console itself...

Image Provided by KickStarter
You can check out the official KickStarter page or whatever you want to call it by clicking on the caption. It is in Chinese and I didn't bother to translate it.

What can I say about this? It looks like a PS4 and has an Xbox One look-alike controller. However, it's far inferior than both the PS4 and Xbox One combined. I'm not even lying when I say this. This "console" only plays Androids game.

You know how you can play an Android game? By using any Android smartphone or even a tablet! As a matter of fact, most people have either Android or Apple products where they can play these games that is provided by the OUYE.

There is no way this would be produced in the US. The US has far more stricter copyright laws than China does. Seriously, something has to be done about China's copyright laws because this is just a lousy excuse for a knock-off console.

In this age, even a child wouldn't be stupid enough to get one of these! They would instantly know they couldn't play PS4 or Xbox One games on this! What parent would be cheap enough to buy this!? You're better off buying your child a laptop, tablet, or any other electronic. Otherwise, why wouldn't they just buy them an Xbox One or PS4 if they can afford it? I could understand if they don't want to waste a ton of money on a console, but most electronics are pretty cheap!

I really need some aspirin or ibuprofen. You have no idea how bad my head hurts after even seeing this console. Just the mere mention of this console will be make shutter.

Awful Craigslist Sellers #6

Hey Guys, it's been around 4 days since the release of the 5th edition of Awful Craigslist Sellers. You won't believe the one seller on this list. As a matter of fact, you can see it right now! Unfortunately, this was the only bad seller I can find for today, but I promise to find more in the next edition!

#1

Is this guy being serious or is he just this dumb? What PlayStation user didn't download this game before it was gone!? I was angry over this, but I still couldn't help but laugh at this.

I thought Konami was pulling these listings off!? I know they did it for eBay, but what about Craigslist!? How are idiots like these guys still getting away with this!? I really hope nobody is dumb enough to buy this unless you are really that desperate to play PT.

Seriously, PT can be completed in under an hour if you know what you're doing or probably even less than that! There is no way this game is worth a $1,000!

Why do people buy Amiibo Figures?

Hey Guys, I want to first say that the last Nintendo product I bought was probably over 5 years ago. I usually buy every new Mario game that releases, but I stopped using Nintendo consoles a long time ago when I switched over to Microsoft and it's been a while since I even looked at the latest Nintendo products.

Literally, I didn't even knew this came out until a couple of weeks ago...

Honestly, I had to do some research on this New Nintendo 3DS XL because I honestly don't know what's so new about it. The only significant changes that are noteworthy are the additions of the c-stick and the amiibo support. That's it. I really don't see what the difference between this and the regular 3DS XL.

I can go on forever talking about the 3DS because I'm not that big of a fan. I prefer the 2DS in all honesty as I'm a fan of its design and I'll take it over the 3DS anytime. Anyways, I'm just changing the topic at this point.

Like the 3DS, I had to do some research on the amiibo to figure out more about it. After doing some research on it, I don't see what is so special about it. Yeah, you can buy a character to get level him/her up while gaining some bonuses, but it's essentially overpriced DLC.

Think about it. Isn't just Nintendo's take on Skylanders? Seriously, this almost the exact same thing except this is with Nintendo characters and each character is around $10-$15. As a matter of fact, it might be even more than that!

I thought these types of figure were a gimmick. I usually see kids walking out of the store with one of these things. I could see people buying these amiibos for collection purposes only, but I don't understand why they would use them. Do they really make that much of an impact.

I know I am being ignorant right now, but this is something that shouldn't be priced at this point! $15 for a plastic figure that I might get bored of in less than a day? Well, that sure sounds like an awesome idea! *sarcasm*

Is Mad Max releasing on a bad day?

Hey Guys, sorry that I haven't posted anything in a couple of days. I honestly was a pretty busy for the past couple of days and nothing new was going on in the gaming news. However, there was more news of Mad Max that was rising up. However, this is a game that I want to talk about but not about its gameplay.

I want to talk about its release date since it's releasing on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Before I go on, I want to mention that I don't hate this game or the movie franchises. Most people were first introduced to Mad Max from the newer movie that released a while ago.

However, that's what is making me mad! People are only interested in this game because of how good of a movie Mad Max: Fury Road was! When this game was first released, were people even paying attention? Don't people realize that movie-license games are almost always terrible!?

I'm not saying the game is terrible since it didn't release yet. However, I do see where the hype is coming from due to all these features that are coming to it. Just recently, there was this multiple choice trailer that released. You can check it out here,

I recommend that you do watch the full trailer is on YouTube since it is "interactive". You'll know what I mean by "interactive" once you watch the trailer yourself. Anyways, now I'm just digressing.

However, are people actually going to buy this over The Phantom Pain? Seriously, just let that question sink in for a bit. This game is pretty much guaranteed to be good due to the fact that Metal Gear Sold V: Ground Zeroes released back in 2014. Even though the game's price was ridiculous, the gameplay was amazing and the Fox Engine is just breathtaking!

If you haven't played Ground Zeroes, then you are missing out on an amazing experience. I don't know how people haven't played it since it was free on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That's another factor that will come into play when Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V releases!

Metal Gear Solid V is coming to both last-gen consoles and current-gen consoles while Mad Max is releasing on only current-gen consoles. Despite the fact that the Phantom Pain is meant to be played on current-gen consoles, it actually still looks pretty good on last-gen consoles. Additionally, the game is only $49 on current-gen consoles!

Want more? Metal Gear Solid V's story is said to be so long that "players will start complaining that they can't clear the game". This was said by Hideo Kojima himself. The article itself is old, but you can check it out here. Seriously, it's obvious that the Phantom Pain will have more content and replay value than Mad Max.

With all this being said, there is no way that Mad Max will sell as well due to the fact that the Phantom Pain is just on a different level.

Awful Craigslist Sellers #5

Hey Guys, I decided to try to get some more different sellers today because I don't want to come off as an Xbox fanboy. Nobody is safe on Craigslist.

#1

I understand that there are some people who don't care if they don't get a complete game whether it doesn't come with a manual or even a box.

However, if someone is going to sell a game without a box and have it in these sleeves then the price has to be dropped down significantly. I understand that a pre-owned GTA V goes for around $55, but that comes with the box and a map. Additionally, who doesn't have this game already? It has been recently reported that GTA V has sold 54 million copies.

Anyone who purchased an Xbox One or PS4 should have this game by now. I highly doubt that this is in mint condition because there is no other photo showing the disc flipped on the other side.

#2

How much is this guy even selling his game for? Do you have to pay separably or do they all have to go? Do all of the games work fine? Why do you have several games with two copies of them? Do I have to pay for those, too?

Seriously, there are way too many unanswered questions in this posting. However, no way anyone is going to buy anything from this guy if it's almost impossible to understand what he's saying. "No want look 2 sell Ryan"? What is that supposed to mean!? You just can't trust a guy with terrible wording like this!

#3

I don't know how hard it is to misspell something with spellcheck on! Is it really that hard to use it for people or are they just this dumb?

The only reason I would pay over $20 for this game if it came complete and was in MINT condition. This wants a beat-up version of the game for $45!? Is this guy being serious? You can buy a new video game for that price!

I highly doubt this thing will run fine after a couple of weeks of playing it. Trust me, scratch GameCube discs don't last very long. I would know by experience.

Well, that's all I have for today! It's just alarming that people try to sell games that might be in poor condition and just give it way by poor spelling or lack of pictures.

Resident Evil 2 is officially being remade!

Hey Guys, it was just announced probably a half hour ago that Capcom is finally going to develop a Resident Evil 2 remake. Here is the official announcement from Producer "H",

This project is being developed because Capcom has been listening to player feedback. Yes, Capcom actually listens and improves their games from the feedback they get. However, no platforms have been announced yet.

Even most of us bashed Capcom over the years due to their use of on-disc DLC and them killing off the Resident Evil horror elements, I have to say that they are a video game company that takes player feedback into account when it comes to game development.

This is going to be low-budget because remember that Capcom is almost broke. Well, they are doing a lot better than they were last year, but if this is done well then I can pretty much guarantee that this will be profitable for them. Good on you, Capcom!

So I just finished Dexter....

Hey Guys, I know this really has nothing to do with video games, but it's still a form of entertainment that I feel must be talked about. I know that I'm totally late on this, but I honestly never got the chance to watch Dexter in my free time. I heard nothing but good things about it. I started the series back in June and just finished the series yesterday.

Before I continue on, I have to warn you that there are very heavy *spoilers* in this article. If you have not watched the show or are in the middle of watching the show, please don't read this. Additionally, I will mention Breaking Bad spoilers due to the fact that show ended a week after Dexter ended.

Honestly, I don't have a lot of bad things to say about the show as a whole. The show started off strong with Season 4 probably being the best season and Season 2 being the next best. Essentially, the show did start going downhill once Rita was murdered by Arthur Mitchell or the Trinity killer. Honestly, he has to be one of the best villains in the series due to how normal he may seem, but he has proven to be this ticking time bomb who essentially belittles his family and murders innocents in his spare time.

He does a job at making you want to hate him! Lila West is also a pretty cool villain as well, but she obviously isn't as threatening when compared to Arthur Mitchell due to the fact that he iced the one thing that represented Dexter's humanity.

At this point, I'm pretty much digressing. Anyways, let me talk about the finale. All I have to say is that this has to be the most polarizing finale that I've ever seen in terms of reactions. I've noticed that there were a ton of people who just hated the ending while there are other who defend it by saying it was pretty good.

Was the ending bad? No, it was that bad. However, that doesn't change the fact that this finale still sucked. Seriously, I found it unnecessary for Deb to just die the way she did. However, it was still emotional due to the fact that it was Dexter who has to put her down because she was essentially suffering. Personally, if she was going die at least make her die in a way that actually matters. Why not give her a hero's death? I understand that she went down trying to kill Oliver Saxon, but she died ultimately by the clot that formed inside of her.

Additionally, there is just way too many loose ends that this finale ends with. What will happen to Harrison now that he's with Hannah? What ever happens to Masuka and his daughter? Does the department even look into Deb's death? There is just way too many holes that I just can't name them or I probably missed them.

In all honesty, the worst part about this finale is the fact that Dexter survived. He essentially left his child alone with a woman he barely met a season ago and will more than likely harm others in his "new life". Why couldn't the ending been more like Breaking Bad?

Wouldn't be interesting if Dexter's secret was finally discovered and he has an entire manhunt coming for him? I would have loved to see that because it would have been more realistic. Every person who found out about Dexter's secret always ended up dead anyway, so it pretty much made the show repetitive and predictable.

The show should have ended with Deb surviving her wounds and then Dexter leaving Harrison in her care after he commits suicide from the storm. Dexter wasn't thinking straight because he's leaving his son with an actual serial killer with no moral code like Dexter.

Most people probably got over the finale after watching "Felina". That was probably one of the greatest finales that could have possibly been created in history. Breaking Bad ended in a more realistic fashion and it was happy for the most part. Walter White died doing what he loved, he admitted he was doing everything for himself, and knew what he has become while getting what he deserved. That's the way Dexter should have ended.

I don't know how the writers messed up on this ending or pretty the entire series after Season 4. Season 5 and 6 were pretty good. Season 7 was okay but went on longer than it should have. Season 8 is possibly the worst season, but even then it wasn't bad.

I still do recommend that you tell people to watch this show since it was great. However, it is by no means anywhere near Breaking Bad level materiel. At least in terms in the ending. Dexter will always be one the greatest show on television, but the ending was not satisfying by any means.

Awful Craigslist Sellers #4

Hey Guys, I'm back for another edition of Awful Craigslist Sellers! As usual, I'll be looking at people who overprice their items, have terrible grammar, poor item qualities, misleading titles, stock images, etc. Trust me, these sellers just pollute everything.

#1

Actually, this doesn't seem like a bad deal, right? Seriously, do you really think someone is dumb enough to sell this console with a 2TB hard drive with two games for only $120? I don't mind paying $200 for the console, but anything less than that just sets off red flags.

What if the console shuts off randomly? What if the console is damaged from the bottom? Why do they have Call of Duty in the title? What if someone clicked on this without seeing the thumbnail? Something just has to be wrong with the console.

This should just be a rule. If a console is this cheap and has all these things that come with it, just assume that there has to be something wrong with it. Trust me, there are a lot of people of the internet who are not that generous.

#2

If you built a computer for gaming, do you really need to sell your PS4 for such a high amount? Additionally, it only comes with 1 game! Most PS4 bundles that come with 1 game start off at just $399! Matter of fact, you can go to GameStop and get a pre-owned console with a bigger hard drive space and a free choice of a pre-owned game.

Talk about being greedy. You could have at least put the console anywhere from $299 to $380. Otherwise, people will just find a much better deal than this!

#3

If I want to buy a video game, I want to buy it COMPLETE. If I have the option to buy only the disc, then I will simply just walk away. It's my personal preference to always have my games in their boxes instead of having them in these generic cases.

Want to know the real crime though? This guy wants $40 for it! You can get the complete game on Amazon for just $19.99! That's literally half the price for what this guy wants it for! I'm pretty sure GameStop is still selling it for $40, but it's just a prime example of people selling their items for more than what it's actually worth.

I know that I have a lot of PlayStation 4 sellers as part of these lists. However, it's pretty hard to find an Xbox One seller who doesn't sell them at such ridiculous prices. That's only because the Xbox One doesn't sell as much as the PlayStation 4, so people feel the need to just overcharge on selling their PS4 or just sell their PS4 that possibly has issues.

Why isn't there another season of D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die?

Hey Guys, this is something that I wanted to talk about for some time now, but I waited so long in hopes that another season of D4 will release. Hopefully, I'm having most of you just remembering this game. Or, most of you guys have totally forgotten this game since it's been a while since the game released.

Actually, the game was free for a while back in January. Most people either forgot about it due to how short it was or how long it has been since the game was available despite the fact that this game recently released on PC in June. Honestly, I expected popularity in the game to rise after PewDiePie started a walkthrough of it.

Image Provided by the Xbox Store

The reason as to why this game still does not have any new episodes is that the director of the game stated that the future of the game is based on "fan reaction" of season one. In other words, there will only be more episodes if the game is played by a large number of people.

The director wasn't kidding either. Even though the game received positive reviews from critics, there has been no word of another season. Actually, it's still a mystery if there will be any mention of this game at all. It's only recently going viral due to the fact it released on PC.

Will we ever see another episode of this game? All I can say is that I hope so. I just found the game to be pretty interesting due to its unique art style, awesome characters, and weird storytelling. The costume customization is pretty cool as well and the new costumes packs are free if I remember correctly. However, I found myself getting sore very easily having to use the Kinect for the whole game. Sorry, I'm not as active as I used to be.

Thanks for reading this article! I'll be sure to have another edition of Awful Craigslist sellers sometime tomorrow. Hopefully, something interesting happens in the gaming industry in the meantime as well.

Reddit user GMABT completes Dark Souls with only voice commands

Hey Guys, we all know Dark Souls has to be one of the hardest games of all time. However, this guy beat the game with only his voice! Can you seriously just imagine what it must be like to be living with this guy while he's playing?

You can actually check out a snip of his steam here,

You can also check out his original post here.

It took him 30 hours in order to complete the game and he beat it with only 485 deaths. That's still pretty incredible because the average person usually get just as many deaths or more while using a controller.

I have to say that I'm impressed. I don't remember the last time I even played Dark Souls. I stopped playing the game after I got stuck on this one level with this large castle and a door I have to get through. Anyways, I discovered this went it went viral on Reddit just a while ago. Hopefully, this guy will get more recognition for the suffering he went through.

Awful Craigslist Sellers #3

Hey Guys, here is another edition of awful Craigslist sellers. Sometimes, people just don't learn that even retail companies beat the prices they give to their items.

#1

If you're going to sell your products, you could at least put the dollar sign in the correct position. Additionally, 20 gigs is not enough for most of these games. Grand Theft Auto V takes more than 8GB will all the updates that it needs and Battlefield 4 is around there as well. If I want to buy a video game, I want to buy it complete.

Some people don't have a problem buying disc only, but I need something to at least cover up the disc, so it doesn't get dirty or even damaged! Why not at least make the price higher instead of only putting the price of the console itself?  Exactly, why is this guy charging $10 for GTA V? I understand that it's like $40 on Xbox 360 pre-owned, but I would at least want to have the game in a case. Where is the headset? I'm pretty sure the headset must be crappy or something if it's $5!

#2

Before selling anything, you have to ask yourself if someone is going to buy your product. This is just one such example. Does anyone want to buy a movie license game? Seriously, I love how this guy tries to add description about the game rather than anything else.

What's more laughable is the price this guy is asking for. He wants $39 for this game that is more than likely awful. I looked up the game on GameStop and you can buy the PlayStation 3 version for $9.99.

The whole point of selling on Craigslist is by selling it for the lowest, yet most profitable price possible. This guy doesn't seem to know how business works.

#3

I can go in depth about knock-off consoles This was an awful Wii knock-off console. This thing used to actually go for $70! It got a price drop to $40! Now, you can pretty much find it at CVS. Is this console even worth $20?

Most of the games on this console suck and aren't worth the time. Even if someone were to buy this, they would get bored of it in an instant.

Well, that's all for today! Trust me, you'll find awful sellers on any website. Actually, I don't think it's going to stop with the amount of people who just continue to do it.

Halo 5's campaign is apparently two times longer than Halo 4's

Hey Guys, this was the first article that seemed interesting in a while. There really isn't too much to say about the article itself as it's self-explanatory, but the topic is something I really want to go over. I'll tell you what I mean after I go over the article.

So according to an article from gamesradar, it was mentioned to one of their employees during Gamescom that Halo 5's campaign is "twice as long as Halo 4's". Additionally, the game does have faster action and a lot more guns than any past Halo game.

I'm not much of a Halo guy, so I can't really say that I'm excited for it. However, I did feel that Halo 4's campaign was way too short and kind of disappointing to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I think Halo 4 was a great game, but I didn't feel compelled to play the game after I finished the campaign.

At the same time, this is a good thing because I feel that games are becoming shorter. It's literally the standard that a game's story will last 12 hours but sometimes it will go as low as 1 hour. If Halo 5's campaign it really around 16 hours, then that would be cool due to the amount of content that it may have. Of course multiplayer will probably consume hundreds of hours out of player, but a lot of Halo fans love the campaign and multiplayer equally.

Honestly, I feel that games have to be made longer because obviously people want to pay $65 on a game they can go back to and just have fun with it.

Battlefield 4 gets more DLC

Hey Guys, it's been almost two years since Battlefield 4 releases and a year since its supposed last DLC map released. Well, it was announced through Battlelog that the Night Operations DLC will release in September to coincide with the two year release of Battlefield 4.

This DLC pack will include Zavod: Graveyard Shift, which is based off the map Zavod 311, and will be tweaked to allow for a more stealthy experience. There is also more gameplay improvement such as improved sound to hear footsteps better as well as adding gadgets to see enemies easier in the dark. You can check out the full story on Battlelog.

Despite the fact that nobody was expecting DLC for such an old game, this actually doesn't sound too bad. It's pretty cool that there is going to be a stealth map added to the game to allow for a more tactical approach to the game. It gives players a fresh breath of air from the all out fights already present in the game.

If this was like a Search and Destroy game mode, then for sure it's going to be stressful yet fun to play! Imagine a 64-player Search and Destroy. That would be chaotic!

The only problem I have with this DLC pack is if it's free. If this DLC is not free, then that will just be greedy. I would understand if it's free for premium members, but there is still a good amount of people who still play this game, so would it really hurt to give out a freebie? It's EA, so I'm guessing yes.

Fallout 4 won't have a level cap

Hey Guys, Bethesda has confirmed that once players have completed the main story to Fallout 4 they can still continue to level up. Here's the post itself,

Fallout 4 is proving itself to be Game of the Year worthy every time something new is announced for it. Additionally, this game is proving itself to have some serious replay value as there is pretty much hundreds of hours worth of gameplay that this game has.

Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 10th, 2015. I'm definitely looking forward to this game as much as anybody is.

Awful Craigslist Sellers #2

Hey Guys, I found some more awful sellers on Craigslist. Seriously, this is something that I could do on a daily basis because of the amount of people who don't have basic selling skills.

#1

When will people learn that you always need to show the picture of the item that you're selling!? This looks like something you can find in the Google image search. Actually, I found it by typing in "playstation 3 20gb". Look hard enough and you'll find it.

Additionally, this console is pretty much useless if it can't stay on for a set amount of time. Additionally, who would want to buy a system just to play nothing but sports games? As a matter of fact, how does the PlayStation know when to stop functioning when playing a certain game genre? This guy makes no sense. Looks like someone isn't getting $25.

#2

This seems like a good deal right? However, would you really trust a guy who can't even spell "with". Actually, there is a lot more thing wrong with this guy's offer. First of all, he's selling 29 games as well as the console with two controllers. However, where is the hard drive size? How is someone going to know if all these games will fit in the hard drive?

Additionally, what PlayStation user doesn't have The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, KillZone 2, MW2, Black Ops II, Resident Evil 5, or Red Dead Redemption? These are just some games that people have played which means that people have probably played or owned the games shown in the picture. Most of these games can be bought for under $20. Who is to say that these games don't work and/or are dirty?

I do find it funny that this guy is saying not to insult him, but he just doesn't know how flawed his advertisement is.

#3

I really wish I could just tell you that this is fake, but this is not fake. The only editing I've done was just the circle and the text. You have no idea how long I was laughing for. I feel like I've had my intestines ripped out of me.

I don't know much about Clash of Clans, but I guess it must be pretty hard to get to level 81 and to get town hall 10. Seriously, if anyone is lazy or stupid enough to pay $2000 for this I fear for humanity.

Well, this was the second edition of Awful Craigslist Sellers. I'm really having fun doing this segment as I feel like I'm doing a service to those potential internet shoppers and sellers.

Black Ops III's eSports transition to PS4 is a bad sign

Hey Guys, normally I don't like to talk about Call of Duty due to the fact that this game is a love/hate thing. The only time I would mention Call of Duty is when there is something that has to be called out whether to commemorate it or berate.

When Activision announced the eSports for Call of Duty, I pretty much shrugged it off. However, I sort of praised it when it implemented the ban and protect thing. It's a step into a new direction that could be used in other games to prevent people from using over-powered weapons or explosives.

Despite this new implementation, eSports will only be available on PS4. It kind of goes back to my console exclusivity arguments that I used in the past. It's not the game that should be worried about; it's the fanbase that should be worried about.

This is all just a marketing technique that is pretty much causing console wars. PlayStation fanboys are probably laughing at Xbox users that they can't have eSports. The Call of Duty franchise is still selling strong, so this will only persist the problem. Sony is pretty much sending subtle details to try to persuade people to go out and buy a PS4.

Additionally, it shows just how greedy video game companies are becoming. Sony knew how successful Call of Duty was in terms of sales and wanted to get in on some of the profit. Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg even told IGN during E3 2015 that Sony really wanted to partner. You can actually check the full article here. Doesn't this just set off alarms? It was bad enough that Xbox was getting special treatment, so what makes PlayStation any different?

I said this once and I'll say it again. This is just a bad idea. If you purposely start a console war, then you're pretty much saying that your console is better than the other since they have special access to whatever content. This marketing "technique" really needs to stop since essentially it's trying to create a sense of entitlement into console owners.

Awful Craigslist sellers #1

Hey Guys, this is a new segment I'm doing to really expose how greedy or dishonest people can be on the internet when it comes to selling video games or video game consoles. As usual, I will not reveal any names nor the location. The only editing I've done are just the black squares.

Anyways, let's take a look at these awful sellers!

#1

This should be a universal rule. If you're going to sell anything, at least have an advertisement with proper spelling and grammar. People would assume that this is a scam due to the fact that the person selling it doesn't have basic English skills. Apparently, this guy can't even spell controller with spell check on.

Okay, this guy disgusted me enough. I really hope nobody even considers buying this Xbox One from this seller. Anyways, time to move on to the next seller!

#2

From a glance, you might be asking what exactly is wrong with this. Well, this should also be another universal rule. Always show the products you're selling! This guy claims that he as Madden and Call of Duty up for sell, yet he doesn't show a picture of either.

I should also mention to make sure to always clarify what you're selling. This guy states he's also selling a headset, but he doesn't clarify which one. Is he talking about the default headset? Turtle Beach? Tritton? Afterglow? Seriously, always make sure your items are in the picture and not vague.

If you guys like this new segment, then I will be sure to continue on with this as it's fun to expose the awful sellers of the internet.

Call of Duty will have a ban and protect system for eSports - lol, not bad!

Hey Guys, this has to be the most hilarious news story in video games that I have read in a while as well as the most hilarious video game feature as well. If you want to read the full IGN article about this feature, you can check it out here.

Honestly, I don't really care much for eSports. I'm not that competitive when it comes to video games because I believe they are about having fun. However, Call of Duty is a whole other story when it comes to being competitive. People take this game way too seriously. I really hate when these narcissistic jerk go into a lobby and say things like, "Get out of regular matches! They don't count!" or "Tournaments are all that matter is this game". Not all people who play competitively are like this, but for those of you who say things like this please get over yourself. I paid $65 for the game and will play it the way I want to. I can go on about competitive gaming for a long time, but this is not the point of this article. Anyways, let me get back on topic.

So here's how it will work. Before even starting a match, one member from each team will be able to protect or ban any score streaks, weapons, specialists, or abilities. Essentially, these people get to dictate what you can or can't use.

Depending on how this is used, it actually makes the game fair. If people just ban shotguns, C4s, rocket launchers, and snipers, then I'm totally for this feature. It's about time that people do get to chose what people can't use. Seriosuly, it gets annoying to have people running around with shotguns while throwing C4s and other explosives all over the place just to get a cheap kill.

However, it's a totally different ball game if you have to bad rifles. Rifles are totally versatile and are useless in the hands of a bad player. If the rifle is overpowered to the point where even a noob can get a kill, then it should be banned. However, rifles that are not overpowered shouldn't have to banned because people just happen to be good with it.

It wouldn't have been a bad idea to implement this feature in regular matches too. The only people who would complain about this being implemented into regular matches would be by players who use nothing but shotguns, explosives, and sniper rifles. However, I feel no sympathy for them because they have to rely on "cheap" weapons to get easy kills.

Video Breakdown: Mafia III - Worldwide Reveal Trailer | PS4

Hey Guys, the Mafia III trailer finally released yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to see it since I actually forgot about it and was watching Dexter. Anyways, the trailer is down below for you guys to check it out. Let's get this started.

The trailer starts off at this swamp and shows a man driving alone. A pair of dog tags are on his mirror and he's wearing a green military coat, so it's obvious that he was a soldier. Then, Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower blasts on his radio making it obvious that this game takes place in the 60s during the Vietnam War.

I read the description of the video and the year is actually 1968. The protagonist of the game could be Lincoln Clay as provided in the description. It turns out that Clay had a guy tied up in the back of his car. The trailer ends with him killing this tied up an with three more people showing up in the background.

At 3:14. people have speculated that the old man is Vito Scaletta, who was the protagonist in Mafia II, due to the fact that this old man has a scar on his chin.

The trailer itself was okay. The redeeming factors include the possible return of Vito and the fact that Hendrix was featured as the background music. However, I really hope that Vito and Joe's story are still continued in this game because the ending to Mafia II was just awful to say the least.

I'm looking forward to a gameplay demo of the game as well as hearing more details about the game's story as Mafia II's strong point was its story.

Over 2 Billion Hours have been logged into Destiny

Hey Guys, I don't know if I should feel ashamed, embarrassed, sympathetic, anger, or proud over what I just saw. Activision shared this news during its quarterly investor call that players have spent over 2 billion hours into the game.

Destiny has over 20 million players and estimates that each player put in 100 hours worth of gameplay into Destiny.

Has Destiny really consumed this much out of our lives? This like the amount of hours people put into Call of Duty, League of Legends, and Battlefield. However, this is just sad considering the fact that most people play the game this long just to get some kind of awesome random loot drop.

Personally, I put in 30 something hours into this game. Actually, I probably put in more than that, but no way would I put in over a hundred hours into this game.

Bungie will ditch the light system

Hey Guys, Bungie has just announced they are changing the way players can level up as soon as The Taken King DLC is released on September 15th.

When the DLC released, the level cap will be raised up to 40. Instead of having to get better gear to raise your level, you will be able to level up by completing missions, killing enemies, and completing bounties.

This is actually a great idea. Trust me, the random item drop is just an awful system. Seriously, I would always end up with awful gear and awful weapons. The best things I got from these drops were the Strange Coins and the Passage Coins.

Video Breakdown: Homefront: The Revolution Trailer & Gameplay Demo - Gamescom 2015

Hey Guys, a new trailer as well as gameplay has been shown for Homefront: The Revolution. It's been a year since the last time a gameplay demo or trailer has been shown for this game. However, here it is and I'm pretty much going to tell you what the trailer is saying and what I think.

The trailer was actually underwhelming to say the least. It's essentially a child giving a "Thank You" speech to the Greater Korean Republic while a montage shows a bunch of civilians rebelling against them in the process to show the lie that they aren't thankful while also showing the brutality of the GKR. I think they could have done a better job with the trailer, but it does enough to show the atmosphere of the game.

I'm not a person for graphics, but the graphics to this game are pretty stunning even on consoles. The demo showcased the Xbox One version of the game in case you didn't notice.

The gameplay can be described as a Far Cry clone. Literally, the game is open-world, has a stealth system and can conquer enemy camps. Additionally, there is this one screen weapon customization that is very similar to Crysis. Essentially, the gameplay really isn't anything special.

Here is what really ticked me off. The Resistance is just WAY too overpowered. Seriously, this is a game where the enemy should be menacing and that every fight with them should be a struggle or even avoid combat all together.

Seriously, the members of the Resistance have access to high-powered weapons and armor! I feel that maybe they should be armored with pistols and other light-weapons as well as wearing little-to-no armor to show that these are just normal people!

Honestly, this game has a lot of potential, but the action should be minimal! It'll just be another Call of Duty: Ghosts! Stealth should be a top priority in this game that way it can boost the level of anxiety that players can feel to know what it's like to go up against an army that is more skilled and powerful than the player!

The beta will be released by the end of 2015 for Xbox owners first. Seriously, they have to stop this timed console exclusivity stuff.

Is Halo Wars 2 a good idea?

Hey Guys, it's been 6 years since Halo Wars first released. The game was met with generally positive reviews from critics, but fans has mixed feelings about the game.

During Gamescom, Microsoft announced that Halo Wars 2 is set to release on Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2016.

With the news out of the way, I have to ask a serious question. Was anyone looking forward to a Halo Wars 2 game? Don't get me wrong, Halo is a great franchise, but most Halo fans usually look forward to the main series rather than spin-offs.

I don't know anyone who said, "Man I'm totally looking forward to Halo Wars 2!". A lot of people were probably surprised about the announcement because nobody was expecting it to be released! Is the RTS genre really that popular anymore.

Well, RTS is actually a very popular genre, but it's not meant for Halo. People would probably want another Company of Heroes or Starcraft game. Most people associate Halo as this first-person, science fiction shooter. It really wasn't made for RTS, but it did work when it first released back in 2009.

Halo Wars is not a bad game, but it's a game that will not please every Halo fan. Maybe massive Halo fans will love it, but most casual Halo fans will probably want the first-person shooter they've always been more aware of. Not everyone is good at RTS.

Quantum Break release date announced

Hey Guys, before I move onto the news story I have to say that I should have mentioned this game before because I was actually looking forward to it. This game originally was intended to release sometime in 2015, but it's now officially going to release on April 5, 2016.

The creative director is Same Lake who is the same guy who voiced Max Payne. That comes to show that maybe this game might have some pretty cool story telling, but I'm only going off of a hunch.

Should you buy the Halo 5 Xbox One bundle?

Hey Guys, Gamescom is just full of surprises but this one actually isn't such a surprise. Microsoft announced a $500 1TB Halo 5 Guardians Xbox One game console.

Image provided by Gamespot

As a side note, this is a pretty crappy looking screenshot, but it's the only one available at the moment so sorry for the inconvenience. It only makes the design look awful.

Anyways, pre-orders for the game begin today. This will also come with a digital copy of the game, the Warzone REQ bundle, in-game armor, and an emblem. This also comes with a Guardian figure, Blue & Osiris team dossiers, Spartan Locke's Classified Orders, and a copy of Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series.

The console itself has this metallic blue accents and Halo-themed sound effects.

Okay, now here are my thoughts if this is worth a buy. Unlike the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition bundle, this bundle includes a 1TB hard drive. However, the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition technically comes with 5 games due to the deal Microsoft announced yesterday about getting every Gears of War game by just playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

The Warzone REQ bundle comes with 14 map packs, but I'm positive there is going to be more map packs. It would have been a lot better if this came with a season pass! If someone is going to pay $500 for this, it could at least come with the complete game!

I would say only buy this if you're a massive Halo fan and are looking to buy an Xbox One. However, this is not a bundle that people should be buying because you really aren't getting much out of this. The only reason a causal gamer should buy this for is for the 1TB hard drive.

The bundle itself launches on October 20th, but you won't be able to play Halo 5 until October 27th which means you can pre-download the game, so you don't have to wait like 2 hours to download the game.

This is when Xbox One will have backwards compatibility

Hey Guys, Xbox has announced during its Gamescom press conference that Xbox One will have backwards compatibility for all players in November. Right now there is no official date set.

There is over a 100 games that are made backwards compatible for the Xbox One. Microsoft has also confirmed that they will keep Games with Gold in mind once this feature launches.

Sorry for the short article. Don't worry, I'll have some more in a bit!

Sony will allow PlayStation Plus members to vote for free games

Hey Guys, today is just filled with new news. This one is particular caught my attention. It seems like Sony and Microsoft are just going at each other when it comes to trying to compete with on another for their online services. However, Sony actually has the edge here.
Image provided by flickr

This new feature is called Vote to Play. Basically how it works is that members will be able to vote from a selection of games given by Sony and which ever games gets the most votes will be the next free game.

Sure the games are still being chosen, but players still have the ultimate say in which games they want to have for free.

I'm not mad at Sony for making the decision. This is probably the greatest decision that they have made in a while when it comes to PlayStation Plus. However, me as well as other people should be mad at Microsoft.

It's usually a 50/50 chance that Microsoft will give awesome games or games that people haven't played before. I literally didn't download the games last month. Actually, I don't even remember which games were free last month because I already owned them or I was just not interested in playing them.

I can already see Microsoft making the same decision eventually. People are going to complain about this enough to a point where Microsoft will have no choice but to allow a Vote to Play system.

The Pacific Standard Job now has double $GTA and double RP

Hey Guys, usually I'm early about announcing these Heist extras for GTA Online, but I'm a late about this due to the fact that I'm busy playing Destiny and I've been watching Dexter all day.

Honestly, I really can't say much about the amount of cash you can get from the Heist setup missions, but the Heist finale mission must pay a whole lot more! This event will last from August 3rd to August 9th,

Remember to also go for the elite challenges which include,

  • Finished in under 10:15
  • Avoid the NOOSE being called
  • Nobody gets wasted
There's also a boost in GTA online activities to go alongside this week long event,

  • Deathmatch: Finish in Top 3, Run Over and Kill an Enemy Using a Vehicle
  • Missions: Not Losing Any Lives Bonus
  • Races: Clean Lap, Fastest Lap, First for Whole Lap, Get Into 1st Place, Overtake Player 5 Times, Overtake Player 10 Times, Slipstream for 5 Seconds
  • Simeon Car Export Requests
  • Stunt Jumps
  • Survival: Enemy Kill, Vehicle Destroyed

This is the final Heist that will have this bonus event. I do recommend that you spam these mission if you're in need of cash or really need to rank up your character. I just broke level 200 due to these missions, but I don't feel proud of it.

Rocket League is "absolutely, 100 percent going to other platforms"

Hey Guys, I almost got a heart attack when I first heard the news that Psyonix, the developers behind Rocket League, has announced that Rocket League will be coming to other consoles. However, it's unknown as to which console it will be coming to.

With only around 12 or so employees at the company, it's unknown as to how long it would take for Rocket League to arrive on other consoles.

The developer also clarified that last-gen consoles are still likely to see this game as well, so maybe we might see a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 release of the game. However, most of us Microsoft users want this game on Xbox One.

If this game were to release on Xbox One for free as part of the Games with Gold, the severs to this game would pretty much be broken because of how fun this game is. I would really love to get a chance to play this game.
