Editorial: 2-Disc on Xbox 360

Hey Guys, next-gen is coming very soon. It has been so great to see how video games have evolved since the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 first came out. However, new titles are now coming out with two-disc on Xbox 360. I understand the reason why Xbox 360 can't handle most of these games and PlayStation 3 can.

DVDs don't have enough storage capacity compared to a Blu-ray disc. This is why most new titles come out with 2-disc. Grand Theft Auto V has two disc, but requires an 8GB installation to play on just one disc. This just takes up way too much GB on my hard drive. Call of Duty: Ghosts (I believe) comes with a 3GB installation disc. This is more prevalent now because it makes it easier for people to just use one disc rather than having to use both disc to play a game.

This is my opinion. Feel free to disagree with me if you wish. I don't like these installation discs. They take up way too much space. I currently have 5GB left on my hard drive because of these installation disc. I find it way better to have to use two discs because it takes up way less memory.

If you need me, I have to get another hard drive.

Battlefield 4 Beta Out Today and My Impressions

Hey Guys, the Battlefield 4 beta is out today. Most of you are hopefully at least are currently downloading the beta. I downloaded the beta about an hour ago and finally got a chance to play it. However, this beta is about 1.54 GB big on Xbox Live (I'm doing this off the top of my head, but this beta takes over 1 GB).

Remember that this is only the beta and may not reflect on the final product. I first went into the customization options. I wasn't able to customize my character; however, I was able to customize my weapon. Even though this is only the beta, the weapon customization looks promising. Frostbite 3 should really be the main point of this article. This is my opinion, Frostbite Engine 3 looks great during cinematic moments (the only one being the intro of the game), but the game does not look great in the gameplay. Frostbite Engine 3 looks, if not, exactly like Frostbite Engine 2. However, I must praise Frostbite Engine 3 due to its superior physics compared to Frostbite 2. If you are a veteran of the Battlefield series, the controls will make you angry. The control layout is now the same as any ordinary first person shooters. Really DICE? Anyways, there are only a few new mechanics that were added. One being that your are now able to lean out of cover. This only comes in handy on rare occasion. The kill-cam or whatever you call want to call it also changed and so did the spawning options. The new spawning mechanic is not too bad. You're now able to see the entire map and choose where you want to spawn, but only at points your team has.

The beta is not terrible. However, it is buggy which may irritate you. I enjoyed my experience with the beta, but I was really hoping for more out of Battlefield 4. However, this beta will not stop me from not buying the game. Battlefield 4 released on October 29th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition Announced

Hey Guys, this may seem late by Gearbox has announced that a Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition will be released on October 8th in North America and October 11th everywhere else.
This comes with every DLC ever released. Well, a good chunk of them to be exact. This will cost only $60! This is a pretty good price considering the price for a single DLC for this game.

Hey Guys, I feel like writing a lot today and I found this news very interesting. Bethesda has announced a Game of the Year edition for Dishonored. This will release on October 8th (My birthday) in the US, and in Europe on October 11th.

Dishonored Game of the Year edition will contain every DLC made for the game which is a bang for your buck. This is only $40 in the US. If you have not played Dishonored, this would be a good buy. However, Dishonored (Standard Edition) is only $20 on Amazon.

Xbox Live: Free Games in September

Hey Guys, sorry it has been a while since I last posted anything. This may seem pretty late, but Microsoft announced the next free games of September.

The first game is Magic: The Gathering 2013. This is available until Monday September 16th. The next free game will be Rainbow Six: Vegas.

These games aren't bad. However, I'm not into the Magic franchise, so it is a lose for me. Rainbow Six Vegas is a very old game, but it is pretty good. I have never played Rainbow Six Vegas, but I have played the second game. I really liked the second game, so I can't wait to play this one. Even tough I could get this game on disc for a very cheap price.

PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita Price Cut

Hey Guys, Sony finally slashes the price down for both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. Also, memory cards for the PlayStation Vita will have price drops.

This PS3 12GB console is only $200 in the US. This is actually a pretty good price to start off with. You could add a bigger HDD if you want a bigger memory for the console. This is also a good price to enjoy The Last Of Us which is obviously an exclusive.

The PlayStation Vita is also $200 in the US.

If you're going to buy either of these products. Buy them from Amazon to avoid taxes.

Everything New announced for Call of Duty: Ghosts

Hey Guys, the new multiplayer for Call of Duty: Ghosts was reveled earlier today. Since there were so things announced about Ghosts, I'll do mini posts for each announcement.

The Trailer itself

I'm not going to lie, but Ghosts by far has the best trailer for any other Call of Duty game. New mechanics are actually being put into the game. Not only new mechanics, but also a new game engine that allows for environmental destruction. I'm more hyped about the whole character customization option in this game than anything else so far. Based on the trailer, it may be speculated that female characters may even be playable in the multiplayer.

Xbox Live: Free Games in August

Hey Guys, it's now time for a new game to become free game of August. The first game of the month to be free is none other than, Crackdown.

I myself have not even played Crackdown. Crackdown is a game from 2007 and the main reason anyone purchased the game was because the game contained the beta for Halo 3. Much like Bulletstorm, Crackdown became a surprise hit. The game even spawned a sequel, however, I knew that game was a disappointment.

In addition to Crackdown, another game was announced to be free. Dead Rising 2 is the next free game after Crackdown. Not only is Dead Rising 2 free, but it's DLC Case Zero will also be free. I already played Dead Rising 2, however, this game was fun and very difficult.

Both of these games are actually pretty good. Which means there is a possibility that Microsoft may release better free games.

VGT Weekly Update #1

Hey Guys, since there really isn't anything too major going on in the gaming world I decided to start doing weekly updates. I noticed that ratings were getting lower because I haven't been posting that much lately. Not to worry, I'll start trying to post regularly. Anyways, back to the weekly update.

The new and final DLC for Dishonored will release on August 13th on Xbox Live for 800 MP($10).
However, I only get DLC if I'm really interested or if it's part of an episodic series. (I'm looking at you Walking Dead).

Capcom is having a sale on Xbox Live. Games that are on sale include,
  • Asura's Wrath: $10
  • Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3: $15
  • Resident Evil 5: $10
  • Devil May Cry HD Collection: $15
  • Devil May Cry 4: $10
  • Dark Void: $5
  • Lost Planet 2 : $5
Add-ons are also on sale. However, there is just way too many to name. Also, Assassin's Creed 2 is available now as a free game for Xbox Live. If you haven't played Assassin's Creed 2 (which a majority of you probably have), download this game immediately. This is the best Assassin's Creed game in the series. I have played Assassin's Creed 3, but I haven't had the time to post a review of it. Trust me, Assassin's Creed 3 is disappointing to veteran Assassin's Creed players. One day I'll post a review of Assassin's Creed 3.

For you PC Gamers, the Steam sell is still going on. If your wallet hasn't been robbed, go waste your rent money on the Steam sell.

If you're wondering what happened to the "Two Gamers" series, don't worry about it. I know it's been a while since I published the last article, but I'm currently working on one. I have about 3 articles done, but I need to read over them to make sure they're good to go.

I noticed that my Rants posts are becoming popular. I just wanted to let my feelings out, but I never knew people are so interested in people ranting. I'll probably rant more often, but too much to the point where I get sued for Harassment.

A survey recently conducted by IGN shows that people prefer the PS4 over the Xbox One.

The scale was from 1 to 5. Where 1 is less important and 5 is most important. The survey shows that people care more about price then anything. Microsoft, we live in a world where Economics really affects the way people think. Why would you set the price higher for your console when your competitor's console is over $100 cheaper? It seems everyone only do things just because they get paid. That's just sad.

I'll see you guys next week on the next weekly update.

Overpriced DLC RANT!

Hey Guys, the Video Game Industry is starting to grow more stingy. Companies like EA and Ubisoft are now increasing the price of DLC. What sense does that make!?

Before anyone says anything, I know that these DLC prices are high because video game companies want to make a profit from their games. I understand that; however, why would a consumer pay $60 for a video game that isn't complete. Some DLC are not even worth purchasing especially skin or picture packs. I have no problem spending $5 or less on additional content, but $10 and up is just atrocious. DLC is so overprices that most video game companies started selling Season Passes to make their DLC free. $30 for a Season Pass isn't bad at all. In fact, it's actually a money saver. However, it still doesn't mean everyone will buy it. Maybe someone just wants a single DLC pack and that's it. Why pay $30 for that one single DLC when you can get it at a cheaper price? EA is infamous for releasing their DLC at such high prices. It's no wonder why they won Worst Company of the year.

We live in a world where Economics negatively impacts the choices we make. People will do anything to make sure they don't spend a ton of their hard earn cash on their wants. Companies need to make money, so they put their products on high prices to make a profit. However, the Video Game Industry will be doomed if they don't do anything about DLC pricing.
See you on the next rant!

The Walking Dead: 400 Days Review

Hey Guys, just over an hour ago I purchased The Walking Dead: 400 Days on Xbox Live and completed it in just an hour. The Walking Dead: 400 Days is actually a pretty good episode.

Story: 9.5
The Walking Dead: 400 Days focuses on five characters with their own stories. These characters may not seem likable, but they are just as likable to the original cast of characters from Season 1 of The Walking Dead. However, the characters in 400 Days seem to be more merciless or harmless (depending on how you play) than the characters from The Walking Dead. Several references of past characters are made as well.

Gameplay: 8
Just like the Original Walking Dead game, gameplay mostly consist of point-and-click mechanics. Your choices also effect the way 400 Days flows, especially towards the ending of this DLC. Nothing too new is introduced to the gameplay.

Graphics: 8
The Walking Dead is a multi-platform game, so I can't bash on the graphics. However, these graphics still do a great job to bring some nostalgia of the comic books.

VGT SCORE: 8.9 OUT OF 10
I personally would have enjoyed if Clementine made an appearance in 400 Days. I kept on predicting that the characters would at least find Clementine. However, 400 Days does a great job to make the player engage in the game by making the player wonder what is going to happen next. I really recommend that you buy 400 Days if you played the recent episodes in The Walking Dead.

  • Tuesday, July 2nd- PlayStation Network
  • Wednesday, July 3rd- PC/Mac
  • Friday, July 5th- Xbox Live
  • Wednesday, July 10th- PlayStation Network (Europe)
  • Thursday, July 11th- iOS
I really can't wait to play this next episode in The Walking Dead.

Two Free Games a month for Xbox Live Gold members RANT!

Hey Guys, Microsoft announced during E3 that Xbox Live Gold members will be receiving two free games a month. However, this only lasts up until the Xbox One release. Now let me get this straight, two free games a month up until the Xbox One releases? That doesn't sound bad, right? Wrong!
First of all, Microsoft first announced Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3 will be free. Whatever happened to that? Currently, Fable 3 is the only free game provided to Xbox Live Gold Members. However, it has already been confirmed that Assassin's Creed 2 will be free next month. This isn't the only reason why this two free games a month is getting me angry. Another reason is the release of the games. According to the Xbox website, the games will release on the 1st and 16th of each month. It's June 20th and still no other free game has been announced. I hope this is a one time error, so I'm not too mad over this. Now, my MAIN reason why I'm angry over this deal are the games themselves. I already own Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3. About every Xbox 360 owner has the game already! Why not put in brand new games or put games that are under-the-radar, but are good? I just find it a waste of time for Microsoft to be making games free even though most people might already own the game.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not too satisfied about this deal. If Microsoft was so thankful about everyone joining Xbox Live, why not make NEW games free. I don't care if they just add ONE new game free. I just want to have a $60 game for FREE. Maybe Microsoft can give deals to Xbox Live Members on the Xbox One!

Call of Duty: Ghosts (Accidentally) Revealed?

Hey Guys, it's been about 5 months since the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 2. In addition, there has been about only two DLC map packs released so far. We all knew this was coming, but there is another Call Of Duty game coming out this year. This time, it's from Infinity Ward.
This leaked image from Tesco direct shows that a next Call of Duty game is releasing. If you're wanting to pre-order this game, you'll have to wait because this page has been taken down. According to this leaked image, the next game will be called Call Of Duty: Ghosts.

Only screenshots were shown for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, so it's unknown if this game is releasing on next-gen consoles. However, I know for a fact this is coming on PlayStation 4 and Wii U. For now, there are almost no details about the game.
The full reveal of the game will be released on May 1st, so be sure to look for the trailer. I have to say that this game might be a prequel to the Modern Warfare series. Many speculations have been made that Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 will be the main protagonist of the game. I also want to say that it's just a bad idea that another Call of Duty game is coming out. Come on Infinity Ward, Black Ops 2 barely came out and you actually reveal another game!?

Crysis 3 Review

Hey Guys, Crysis 3 is the sequel to Crysis 2 which came out back in 2011. Crysis 3 takes place over 24 years after the events of Crysis 2. But the question is, is the game good?
Gameplay: 9
Not too much change is presented in Crysis 3. However, you can now hack turrents and other equipment with the Nano Visor to gain a tactical advantage over your enemies. The weapon customization returns as well, allowing you to equip any attachment you want on your weapon. Stealth is the key to getting through Crysis 3, but you can go guns-blazing if you so choose to do so. The controls are near flawless and easy to use.

Graphics: 9.5
CryEngine 3 has never looked this beautiful until Crysis 3. There is just so much detail around the New York Jungle. The grass is particular looks so realistic. The first time you see the New York Jungle, it's absolutely breathtaking. CryEngine 3 is just a great game engine, but please get this game on PC to get the most out of visuals in Crysis 3.

Story: 8.5
You take the role of Alcatraz "Prophet" or whoever. Alcatraz can now speak, but he has Prophet's voice instead of his own. The main objective of the game, take down CELL before they could conquer the world. However, Crysis 3 is shorter than Crysis 2 with only 7 missions. The game is also a bit too easy on high difficulties, but what do you expect from an EA game?

Multiplayer: 7
The multiplayer of the game isn't too bad, but I wouldn't say it's great either. The multiplayer is too similar to Call Of Duty. Also, it's hard to get into a match and it's hard to stay in a match without the host rage quitting out of the game. You can try out the multiplayer if you like to, but I advise you to stay away from it.

VGT SCORE: 8.7 OUT OF 10
Crysis 3 doesn't change too much when it comes to gameplay, but the controls are near perfect. The graphics are just so good, so I highly recommend you to get Crysis 3 on PC rather than consoles, but the consoles look good as well. The campaign is short and the replay level is moderate, so I would recommend you rent the game first before you buy it. Just stay away from the multiplayer; however, you could enjoy it.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Confirmed

Hey Guys, this might be kind of late, but Ubisoft confirmed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is releasing this year. That's right, another Assassin's Creed game is coming out sooner than we thought.
Only a few details were released about Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The game is set in a different time period and has a new assassin, Edward Kenway, who is the father of Haytham Kenway and the grandfather of Conner from Assassin's Creed 3. More details will be released on March 4th.

Furthermore, the game is set for a release date of October 29, 2013 and will release on next-gen consoles. Don't worry, it will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well.

In other news, the new Tomb Raider game will be released on March 5th. So far, the game is acclaimed by Critics and I'm even excited for it.

A Serious Post On Violent Video Games

Hey Guys, I want to talk about a serious topic today. We all know about the Connecticut Incident that occurred on December 14th. However, what makes me angry is that many people want to pinpoint the blame on violent video games. I want to state a few reasons why this is such an impulsive accusation.

People Have a Conscience
In reality, people know the difference between right and wrong. There are about 6 billion people in the world and a majority of them play video games. I don't see anybody now a days doing carjackings or bank robberies. I live in Illinois and surprisingly, the crime rate has actually started to decrease here.

People With Asbergers Are Humans Too!
The shooter is 20-year old Adam Lanza. He happens to have Asbergers as well. People have also been blaming that people with Asbergers Syndrome are more susceptible to actions in video games than anyone else. I like to contradict this statement because there is NO EVIDENCE proving that this is true. I happen to personally know friends and family with Asbergers Syndrome and Autism who play violent video games and are perfectly normal!

Video Games Are For Entertainment!
Video Games and Movies depict extremely violent actions that are meant for entertainment. Video Games are made for people to enjoy, so they can be somebody they aren't and escape reality. Yet, the media want to blame violent Movies and Video Games for the tragedy. Think about this for a minute, the reason for these violent media is for ENTERTAINMENT. Besides, these industries make billions of dollars in revenue. So please, Movies and Video Games are connected in these shootings.

So for all of you who also blame violent video games for the Connecticut shootings, you're 100% idiotic. These forms of media are for Entertainment, not some kind of training simulator.
