Update: My Recent Game Pickups #5- Christmas Edition

Hey Guys, I know that I said I would be posting on either Friday or Saturday, but I had to make a couple of extra purchases as well as add in some gifts I got for Christmas. Yes, even though I am a grown man(legally anyways) with a job I still do get gifts.

In case you can't see the PlayStation 3 games, they are Resistance 3, L.A Noire, inFamous 2, Heavenly Sword, and Heavy Rain

I haven't completely switched over to PlayStation. Remember, I am only buying games that are exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Yes, I also got a sweet soundbar from my parents which I have yet to setup since I have no room for it at the moment.

I bought a couple of PlayStation 3 games over the course of two weeks, so I'm including those as well as part of the pickups I made. Have not played any of them besides Heavely Sword and Heavy Rain. I beat Heavy Rain and am glad that I got a chance to play through it. If you have either a PlayStation 3 or 4, please go get a copy of Heavy Rain. The game still holds up to this day.

In case you're curious, I bought all those PlayStation 4 games. I'm surprised that the PlayStation 4 Pro isn't bundled with at least one game or even a bigger hard drive. I know that I'm only getting PlayStation exclusives, but 1TB isn't going to cut it.

I wanted to get Deadrising 4, but maybe I'll pick it up on Friday or Saturday. For now, I didn't get anything new for my Xbox One.

2017 is almost upon us. If Resident Evil 7 turns out to be an excellent game, then 2017 is off to a great start. I'll be sure to pick it up as soon as a couple of my favorite YouTubers review the game to say if it's good or not. I'm looking forward to being exposed to the world of PlayStation.

I hope you all had a good Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate.

Xbox Live: Free Games of January 2017- Xbox Done

Hey Guys, the next batch of free games for Xbox Live users have been revealed. This month's games weren't all that bad and Outlast was easily the saving grace to that. However, next month's games are literally a mixed bag. Allow me to explain.

I don't know what Xbox Live has against Xbox One users. I'm not saying that the games selected for Xbox One are bad, but they are incredibly disappointing. Killer Instinct is a game that never really caught my attention. I'm not big on fighting games, so naturally I'm not going to enjoy the game

World of Van Helsing just looks like a generic over-the-top game, so easily this has to be the worst of the batch of games for January.

The Cave looks like an okay game. The platforming might be fun, but otherwise the game itself doesn't seem like anything special. After the whole Mighty Number 9 incident, I think 2D platforming really should be getting a revamp or something to stay relevant.

Rayman Origins was already made for free on Xbox One. Why on Earth make it free again? I really do hate it when Xbox decides to pull moves like this because it takes away from getting to play a different game.

I'm done for today. I'm thinking of making another game pickups post by Friday or Saturday. It depends how many games I'm willing to buy this Christmas weekend or early next week.

This is why Call of Duty 4's Supply Drops Suck....

Hey Guys, I apologize for not posting frequently. I would be repeating myself by saying that I just don't have as much time to be writing and playing video games. Anyways, I got a chance to play some Overwatch and Call of Duty 4. Both of them had an update while I was gone. While I am enjoying Overwatch's and Call of Duty's update, I can't help but think that the implemented loot system in Call of Duty 4 is completely unnecessary.

There are only a handful of acceptable character models that you can unlock or purchase in the game; Otherwise, almost all of them suck in my opinion

I am totally aware that people were flipping their shit over this decision even before these supply drops were announced to be included in the Modern Warfare Remaster. As a matter of fact, I'm positive most people didn't even care for these supply drops to begin with. Even when they were introduced in Advanced Warfare, I really didn't give a shit about them.

Honestly I think the Black Ops saga had the best customization options in terms of weapons and emblems in the entire franchise. None of them with the exception of Black Ops III had to rely on supply drops to get the best customization items. Well, it is arguable that there is better character customization in Black Ops III than there are in the MWR, but even then there is very limited options for character customization in Black Ops III.

Imagine the potential that this remaster would have had if it had a deep character customization rather than just having to choose from these pre-made character models that really don't have much appeal to most people.

The current customization isn't really good. I never really minded these weapon cosmetics, but I do care about how the character I create looks in multiplayer. If you're into weapon skins and only weapon skins, then this isn't so bad, but for those of you who thought Call of Duty would improve their character customization will be utterly disappointed.

However, I'm not going to be giving this supply drop system that much shit because you can pretty much play MWR without ever having to open one of these drops.

What I want you guys to takeaway from this is that even though supply drops suck there really is no need to be freaking out over them. All you really can do is either ignore them or just move on to a much better game than MWR. Maybe play some Titanfall 2? Dishonored 2? Battlefield 1? Something else?

Should World Size Matter? Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Hey Guys, I just go through finals week and feel like a mess. Now, I have to put in long hours at work and get that overtime pay for the holidays. Seriously, I am way too busy even though I'm done with school for the next three weeks. However, I will do my best to write and play some games when I can.

Anyways, not much has happened since I made my last post other than The Last of Us 2 teaser, Death Stranding, Capcom bringing back old franchises, and the debut of the Nintendo Switch. Okay, I missed quite a lot and don't have a lot of time to cover them, so I guess I get to just have a little discussion about open-world games specifically with Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Image Provided by Polygon

The last time I've played a Ghost Recon game was back with Advanced Warfighter. I have yet to play Ghost Recon: Future Solider. Maybe I'll pick that up on PlayStation 3 or on Xbox 360 if it becomes backwards-compatible.

The last Tom Clancy video game I bought was The Division. While I am having fun playing the game with a friend, I can admit that the game has problems. Believe me, it's far from a great game. Other than Destiny-like gameplay and a relatively "dead" world, the game is okay. Hell, I don't even call the game "The Division". I like to call it, "Tom Clancy's Pedestrian Simulator".

There is a reason why I call it Pedestrian Simulator is because you spend a large majority of the game just walking and running to places. Yeah, you can fast travel, but it's limited and is not available in all locations especially The Dark Zone, which I hardly touch due to scaling issues. Seriously, if I have to travel on foot to places at a slow pace then my experience isn't going to go great.

Even though Pedestrian Simulator is pretty large, there hardly is anything to do other than random events and missions, which get boring after a while. I think I spent so much time doing the same shit in the game that I forgot 90% of the "story".

This brings up the question of does world size matter?

To make a long answer short, no. Linear campaign video games have shown that either gameplay and/or story are the core elements of making a good game.

If a game does have a large open-world and pretty much treat it as a main element in the game, then there better be life in the game. The Witcher 3, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid V, Red Dead Redemption, and most likely Breath of the Wild are prime examples on how to treat an open-world. All of them(well besides Breath of the Wild since it hasn't came out) have a good balance of gameplay and/or story.

There is no guarantee that Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be a good game or just end up like Pedestrian Simulator. Just by seeing the map, it would be cool to see different ecosystems, but will they effect gameplay to force people to play differently based on location? We won't know until the beta.

If Wildlands is going to have a large world, then there better be a strong narrative, transportation system that includes vehicles rather than just fast travel, and just avoid the mistakes made by Pedestrian Simulator. Maybe make Wildlands similar to Pedestrian Simulator's Survival update or Day Z or at least give a game mode like it.

I'm done for today, guys. Just as an update, I'm thinking about getting a PS4, but I need to get holiday shopping done as well as paying my tuition for the next semester at school. Additionally, I'm still working on my PS3 game collection and just ordered a 500GB hard drive for the PS3.

PSA: Don't Buy a PS3 12GB System for over $100

Hey Guys, you might be wondering where I have been. Well, long hours of studying and working have been holding me back from writing. Over the weekend, I was able to catch up on some video games and actually make a couple of pick ups. It's nothing too special, but I do have some announcements to make for those of you who are either collecting old video game consoles.

I ended up getting this baby from my local pawn shop for just $60.
She's a bit dusty, but she runs just fine...
If you never been to a pawn shop before, then all you need to know is that you get what you pay for.
Everything is not labeld with specifics and I bought this console not knowing that this was the 12GB model. While I only paid about $60 for it, I still feel like I was ripped off.

However, it's not too bad as I could always upgrade the hard drive at a dirt cheap price since the PS3 is not too high in demand nowadays. I literally found a 500GB hard drive for this specific model for around $37, so I pick that up at a later time since I won't have time to use it. If you're wondering what games I bought with the system, then here they are...

It really isn't anything special...
No, I didn't pick these up at the pawnshop. I got them from GameStop since I could use some more points to get some coupons. If I had the time and didn't have to do holiday shopping, then I would have bought a lot more games. I've always wanted to play The Last of Us and Uncharted series, so I just couldn't pass up buying a PS3 on the cheap.

My plan is to collect most of the PS3 exclusive games as well as games that I couldn't find for the Xbox 360 either because they are cheaper or obviously couldn't find them. Eventually, I'll get a PS4, but I literally have no spare room to put it.

I know I did a bit of clickbait, but seriously don't go to GameStop and get this 12GB model for over a $100. You can find it a lot cheaper pretty much anywhere online and just upgrade the hard drive.

Update: My Recent Game Pickups #4- Black Friday Edition

Hey Guys, I know it's a day after Black Friday, but I had to work last night, so I didn't have the time to write. I did my shopping on both GameStop and Amazon and kind of went over my budget. I'm still waiting on one more game to arrive and it's one that I didn't originally plan to buy. Anyways, I'll post a pic of my pickups below.

I didn't include the games that I purchased before Black Friday that includes Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2

I want to add that I have a lot of these games digitally, but I prefer to have physical copies of video games, so excuse me if some of these games are pretty old. I would say that I did a decent job this year on Black Friday.

I wasn't planning on getting Battlefront, The Division, or Battleborn, but each costed me $10, so how on Earth was I going to let it pass it up? As of writing this, I haven't even installed Battlefront or Battleborn and have yet to play The Division. I probably made the mistake of buying multiplayer games since I really don't have the time to invest in all of them.

I already own Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, Gears of War, and Assassin's Creed IV digitally, so I just picked them up. I totally forgot to include Titanfall, but I also purchased that as well on disc.

I also purchased Mad Max, but I guess I got the only new copy that didn't include the case. I know GameStop sucks, so I'm a bit upset about that, so I'm going to have to get another copy of the game in order to get a case for it.

Recore was cheap, so why shouldn't I get it? I heard mixed opinions on the game, but I really don't have much to lose based on the price I got the game for.

Currently, I am playing Call of Duty 4 and Dying Light. Literally, the Call of Duty 4 Remaster is so addicting based on its simplicity. However, the spawn system is total ass in multiplayer. Dying Light is pretty fun right now. I prefer this game over Dead Island, but it take me a while to get used to the controls as I always think the "A" button would let me jump.

Overall, I'm happy with what I got from Black Friday. I am disappointed that I didn't pick up that $99 3DS, but I always had a preference on the design of the 2DS. Additionally, I want to get the Nintendo Switch, so I really have no need for a 3DS. I wanted to get Mafia III as well, but I would be going way over budget.

Before I end this off, I want to add that the game I'm waiting to arrive is Life is Strange. I heard good things about the game and am totally pumped to play it.

Xbox Live: Free Games of December 2016- Faith in Humanity Restored

Hey Guys, I just made a recent purchase as part of a deal on Amazon and I will reveal what I bought on Black Friday. I'm on a strict budget right now, so I won't be having a massive haul that I was hoping for. I'm still debating if I should get the $99 Nintendo 3DS, but I don't want to go over budget right now.

Anyways, the free games for the Games with Gold program were announced yesterday and personally I was a bit disappointed. It may seem contradictory to the title, but the title will be referring to other people rather than myself. Allow me to explain...

Sleeping Dogs and Outlast are two great games. If you have never played either of these games before, then please do yourself a favor and download them as soon as they are available to be downloaded. If you've ever played True Crime, then Sleeping Dogs is the closest you're going to get in terms of a sequel since that franchise is now dead.

What disappoints me is the fact that Xbox is going into an Assassin's Creed IV route. What I mean by this is that they made Assassin's Creed IV free on Xbox 360 over a year ago and made the Xbox One version free a few months later. What kind of bullshit is that!? You can probably get Assassin's Creed IV for about $5 or $10 now for Xbox 360. I would have wanted the Xbox One version of the game to be free, but I already own the game, so it's not like my opinion really matters.

Talking about owning games, I literally bought Outlast along with its DLC back in the Shocktober sale for about $6 and now almost a month later it's free. FML. I know that $6 is dirt cheap, but it's still bullshit that I already played the game, so there really is nothing new for me in terms of Xbox One games.

I don't really like racing games, so I'm not interested in Burnout. I've never even heard of Outlander, so I'm not even sure if it's any good. Maybe I'll get into it if I have the time for it considering the fact that I have a lot of games to be beating right now.

That's it for me, guys. I'm going to relaz until my next class starts. I hope that my American readers have a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe Black Friday shopping spree.

Titanfall 2: An Underrated Gem

Hey Guys, finally I'm back from the dead. This morning I just bought both Witcher 3 DLCs and am totally hyped to try them as soon as I get home from work. If you are at all wanting to get games on the cheap, then it's time to do it since today marks the first day of Black Friday sales through the Xbox Store.

If you plan on buying some games through the Xbox Store, I highly recommend. buying Witcher 3, Titanfall 2, Overwatch, and even Battlefield 1. You can view the full list of games on sale in the Xbox Store on Major Nelson's blog. However, I really want people to start giving Titanfall 2 the attention it deserves since I personally see it as one of the most underrated games of 2016 and easily the biggest surprise of 2016.

Image provided by Reddit user Xzreal
I bought Titanfall 2 around November 3rd for about $37 when it was on sale on Amazon. Because of  my experience with the first game, I was a bit skeptical of how this game was going to hold my attention, but it turns out I was being paranoid for no reason.

I've been spending most of my time on the multiplayer portion of the game rather than the single-player campaign because I am just addicted to the multiplayer for Titanfall 2. I have no idea how Respawn made the multiplayer even better than the first Titanfall. Unlike Call of Duty, this game is balanced for the most part and is rather easy to pick and play. However, it's kind of like chess in the sense that it's easy to learn but takes time to master.

I believe I only got to the third mission in the campaign, but it's a decent story. It's not great by any means, but it's a lot better than what we got in the first game. However, it's way too short in my book and I could probably beat this is about 4 hours if I sat down and played it.

What disappoints me the most about the game is its sales. Yesterday, The NPD Group released the list of the top-selling games for October 2016 and by no surprise Battlefield 1 was the best-selling game for October. Titanfall 2 sat at the 9th best-selling game.

I was shocked to see that even the Skyrim Remaster outsold Titanfall 2. That game is about 5 years old and people still paid full price for it? Don't get me wrong, I loved Skyrim, but I have no intention of getting an upgraded version of a game I've already played and don't have the time to go through it again. Come on guys, at least try to get a game that you've never played before!

Originally, I wasn't planning on getting Titanfall 2 since I did buy Battlefield 1. Yes, I'm a part of the problem why Titanfall 2 didn't sell well in the first week of its release. Personally, I do feel like the release of the game was poorly timed since it literally was going to get overshadowed by Battlefield 1 let alone Mafia III and Gears of War 4. It should have been pushed back to either November or December, so people can actually have the time or money to play the game.

It really is a shame that this game is not getting attention. Please, go out and get a copy of the game. It's worth the $60, but if you want a deal then wait until Black Friday or get it digitally for about half the price as well. I should also add that free DLC will be released for the game, so don't expect to see any season pass.

The NES Classic Craze: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, it's been about two weeks since I made my last post, so where the hell was I? Well, I'm not dead if some of you are wondering. School and work have been getting a lot busier as the holiday approaches. Hell, I'm starting to study for finals since I know my time will be extremely limited in the next couple of weeks. While I'm excited for Black Friday, I know that I have to be responsible with what I buy.

However, there are other people who are not responsible for what they buy. Now, what does this have to do with the NES Classic? Let me explain...

I wish I could tell you that the the price was edited...

As  soon the NES Classic was available for purchase on Amazon, it literally sold out within minutes. It even crashed Amazon. Who would have thought that a $60 retro console would sell so quickly especially one that comes with pre-installed games rather than being able to play all NES titles.

Even thought this NES Classic will be nearly impossible to find in stores, it doesn't warrant to exploit this $60 console to their advantage.

I feel ashamed to have to live on the same planet with people who are reselling this console for hundreds and even thousands of dollars! $18,000 for a console? I better be getting fondled by six different people while getting fed Caviar on Bill Gates's lap.

Seriously, $18,000 is almost my college tuition and this greedy scumbag thinks he could actually sell this thing for that much money!? How in the world are you supposed to argue why the NES Classic Edition is worth $18,000 and have the balls to charge an extra $50 for shipping!? Do you have any idea what people could be doing with that amount of money?

For those of you who are thinking about buying this, please just wait it out until there are more available to purchase. I'd rather pay $60 than $18,000 for this retro console. However, if you really want to play these games then you could always play them through an emulator.

You can even get one of those Retron 5 consoles that play more than just NES games! While it may require you to buy your games, at least you can play any NES game you want and have an extra four available consoles to play on for around the same price as the NES classic.

That's it for me today, guys. I just got Titanfall 2 in the mail today and am currently playing it. I am having a blast with it and am not sure if I will be reviewing it since it came out a couple of weeks ago. However, I can say that's it a major improvement to the first game. I'm happy that I only got it for about $37 and it's a great value at even $60.

I'm not sure how often I will be posting this week since I really have to focus on school, but I will do my best to find the time to write since it's alleviating for me in a way.
Till Next Time!!

In Retrospect: Outlast

Hey Guys, Happy Halloween! Okay, originally I wasn't going to be writing about Outlast because I never played the game until a couple of days ago. I got the game on sale during the Xbox Live Shocktober sale. I was planning on going back to Alien: Isolation, but I decided why not Outlast?

This is something I want to add as a new segment on my blog where I look back on older games and see how they aged in either a good or bad way. I will include both games I have or have not played before since I wouldn't remember much about their stories anyway.

I will go into detail about the game's environment later...

Outlast is a survival horror video game that initially released on September 4th, 2013. Yes, it's been a full three years since the game released. It's also been two years since the console version of the game released. I will be looking at the Xbox One version of the game since my PC is a piece of shit that would probably kill itself trying to run it.

Most of you probably remember this game by watching your favorite YouTubers torture themselves playing the game. I know this is how I first heard of the game; otherwise, I probably would not know about this game since it originally came out on PC.

Anyways, does this game hold up today?

Okay, the gameplay is easily the saving grace of the game. There is a tense atmosphere that is caused when you get caught and have to run away from your enemy. Additionally, you just want to faint whenever you do get caught because you can't fight back.

It's kind of bullshit that you can't fight back, but I totally understand why it was implemented into the game. However, it can lead to some frustrating deaths if you do end up getting spotted or an enemy just comes out of nowhere. Yes, there were times where I accidentally ran into an enemy after turning a corner. This is rare, but it does happen.

If you have are a veteran of survival horror games, then you are probably going to breeze through this game on Normal Difficulty. If you want any kind of challenge, then play on Insane. However, the game in of itself is too easy once you pretty much understand how the game works. I can say the same about any other game, but Outlast just feels too easy for me.

The difficulty doesn't kill the experience, but if the game were just a tad bit harder then it would make the game a lot more appealing in terms of replay value.

Believe me, the game has plenty of replay value, but the game is way too short. You can probably complete the game's story on Normal in about 5 hours or less. After that, it's a matter of if you even want to go back on harder difficulties or just get collectibles. I'm not going to give the game shit for this since you could still come back to this game and experience something new.

There are only two major things that I believe hold the game back from being a masterpiece. You may or may not agree with me, but this is just how I feel.

The game over-relies on jumpscares. You do not need to have jumpscares to make something scary. PT is the epitome of a horror game that does not need to have jumpscares to make even a grown man cry. If the game went into a psychological horror genre, then it would be so much better.

That's also not to mention the cliche environment around you. Seriously? The only way a thousand dead corpes in a video game will scare someone is if they were like 7 years old. This is something that has been done so much that it doesn't even bother me or anyone who has seen a horror movie/game in their life. I get it. The asylum you are in is fucked up, but do I really need to see it in a way that is just unoriginal?

Nonetheless, Outlast is a blast to play and you can get it at a dirt cheap price now. Today is the last day you can get the Xbox One version of the game for about $6 and it comes with the DLC. I can't say much about the DLC as I have yet to even play it.

If you haven't played Outlast before and are looking for a scare, then this is a good option. If you do end up loving Outlast, then you're going to have a good time with Alien: Isolation. Just don't expect much of a challenge if you start on a lower difficulty or a great story. The story is interesting, but more should have been done with it to make it better. Like more likable characters?

That's it for me today, guys. Before I end this, I want to say that I am fully aware that Titanfall 2 released last week and Infinite Warfare is releasing this week. I want to get Titanfall 2, but I want to get Dishonored 2 first. Additionally, Black Friday is in a couple of weeks, so I'll wait until then to make any purchases on video games. Actually, I will be pre-ordering Dishonored 2 to get a review out for it due to Bethesda's new review policy. Many of you are going to want to wait to get Dishonored 2, so I'll bite the bullet once more. However, knowing Bethesda the game is probably going to be good.

How to fix Call of Duty

Hey Guys, with the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare this Friday it's finally time to talk about the state of Call of Duty. It's starting to get annoying having to hear people bitch about the game and say stuff like "COD is Dead", "It's not cool to make fun of the dead", etc. As soon as the beta released, people were already bitching about it. Instead of me bitching about Infinite Warfare, I'm actually going to be civilized and provide constructive feedback on how to fix future Call of Duty games and possibly "resurrect" the franchise.

Seriously, Infinite Warfare is a dead meme at this point...
1) Change the Release Window
Even though this list isn't in any particular order, I will say that this has to be the most important point that I will be making here. In order to get people to stop saying that Call of Duty is recyclable, then it's time to change the development cycle. Ubisoft made the wise decision to skip an Assassin's Creed entry for this year because fans were not please with the more recent titles. Remember Assassin's Creed: Unity? Yeah, Ubisoft at least learned their lesson and finally will take the time to make the games better. If I remember correctly, there are about 3 developers for Call of Duty. I say that it's time they change up the cycle completely, so they get more time to work on their games. Maybe every other year at the least will be fine for a release.

2) Improve the Campaign
Seriously, I have to be in the minority that still enjoys the campaign mode. Older Call of Duty games had great stories even though they were released annually. Even Ghosts had a tolerable story. First off, the length of the campaign should be longer. If the release window were to be changed, then there should be more time to put more effort into writing a good story. Additionally, I think it's time to finally add nonlinear gameplay into the campaign just like Black Ops II did almost 4 years ago.

The campaign does not have to be super long, but if it were to last over 10 hours then that would be more than enough. The Modern Warfare franchise is a good example of how long a Call of Duty singeplayer campaign should be. It's annoying to have to go through a campaign that lasts 4 hours and end on a cliffhanger.

Treyarch at least tried to put effort into making a tolerable story for Black Ops III. While I wasn't a huge fan of the campaign, I still thought it was serviceable and provided an interesting plot.

3) Ditch the Future Setting
This has to be obvious. I'm sure that about 90% of the Call of Duty player base is tired of the futuristic settings. Black Ops II took a risk by being the first Call of Duty game to take place in the future as well as having a nonlinear campaign. However, nobody wasn't expecting the future settings to be the new norm for Call of Duty games.

Ghosts is literally the most recent game in the franchise to have your feet on the ground without any kind of Exo jumping. Sure it was innovating to have the Exo suit in Advanced Warfare, but only half the player base liked it.

Personally, I feel like Vietnam or the Korean War would be the best settings to have in a new Call of Duty game. Go back in time and start a mini-series much like the Modern Warfare Trilogy and Black Ops Trilogy. I know Vietnam has been done before in Black Ops, but those were only bits of it. Essentially, just set the game in the past or in our modern time without any kind of Exo jumping at all.

4) Overhaul the Multiplayer
Multiplayer is where the core of Call of Duty is at. However, this is how people complain that each Call of Duty game is pretty much the same is because a lot of them don't even try playing the campaign. Well, it's time to start from scratch with the multiplayer in order to get whiny little bitches to stop their bitching about Call of Duty.

I think it's time for a more casual approach with the multiplayer. I know I might get some shit for saying this, but it's time to take Call of Duty in the Overwatch direction.

Seriously, if the multplayer were to be simplified to get even the most casual player online, then it could attract a more wider audience. Additionally, there can be more teamwork orientated game modes and classes. Balancing needs to be revamped, so there is nobody complaining about a weapon or class being overpowered.

Multiplayer maps should be smaller as well as simple in order to keep the game moving rather than move at a slower pace. If the matches were to go faster, then people would be more tempted to try to get one more game in.

5) Remaster older Call of Duty games
If any of the developers really wanted to make a profit, then it's time for them to put in the effort to rebuild the older Call of Duty games and make them better. However, this shouldn't be done yearly. Maybe remaster an older game every 2 years of so to improve the longevity of the remastered games.

These remasters shouldn't be full priced as well. I would say no more than $30 would be okay. I should also add that the DLC released with the older games should be made for free as well, so there would be more of a reason for people to buy them.

That's all I have to say. The chances of any of these suggestions actually being put to use are slim to none. Hell, most of you might not even give a shit about what I say and I'm okay with it. Maybe you're tired of COD. However, this franchise still has some life to it.

There pretty much is no chance Infinite Warfare will prosper. The game was dead before it even hit the water. It was dead while it was in development. However, people jumped the gun way too quickly because the story might actually be good, but what are the chances of that happening? I know I won't be getting it. I won't even buy it for more than $40 because I'm paying for the Modern Warfare remaster.

Xbox Live: Free Games of November 2016- Call off that hitman...

Hey Guys, are you surprised that I posted twice today? Well, so am I. Originally, I was just going to continue doing some studying until I cam across some new news that the next Games with Gold lineup for November has been announced. Broketober is almost over, but the holiday season is upon up. Meaning a lot of you will be either receiving or giving.

If you didn't already know, this is a solid lineup...

From here on out, I'm going straight to my thoughts as my dumbass realized that you all can read the dates in which the games will be available from, so what's the point of me having to repeat them to you if you can see it?

Okay, I've never played any of these games. That Super Dragon Bros is a new game for Xbox One, PS4 and PC that I know for sure I won't be playing. After doing some research, the game looks like a typical co-op shooting gallery. I'm sorry, but I'm just not into top-down shooters. I don't know if it's due to the design or not, but I just don't like them.

I loved Far Cry 3 and heard nothing but good things about Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. This is the game that I will be sure to download as soon as I can. Even though I might be playing some Battlefield, I will do my best to go play it for leisure to see what I've been missing.

I've never heard of Monkey Island and it doesn't appeal to me, but if it's a good game please let me know. I don't want to bash on a game that I've never played before.

I've been looking into getting Murdered: Soul Suspect, but I wanted to have a physical copy of the game. I've heard mixed things about the game, but it's free, so why should I feel entitled to complain about it? I'll still play it, but I'm hoping it will hold my attention long enough to play it.

That's it for me today, guys. Hopefully, I'll have some posts up before the week is up, so be sure to stay tuned as usual.

Gears of War 4 Review

Hey Guys, after putting in the time into Gears of War 4 almost 2 weeks since its release it's time for me to finally get this review to you guys. It's been probably been over 9 months since my first formal review, so I'm excited to get to review something. You could also skip down to the "score" and summary, but know that I'm going to as much detail as possible without spoiling the story. Anyways, let's do this.

If you haven't seen the trailers, then I just spoiled that Marcus returns...

What I Liked
The story is going to be divisive. I've seen people who loved the story while others are the exact opposite. Personally, I liked the story. Sure, it's reminiscent of some elements that have been done before in almost every drama video game ever, but it still works just fine for the game. Additionally, there is a plot twist that I will not spoil. Trust me, you'll know what I mean when you play the game yourself.

However, you shouldn't be going into this game expecting to see a full-on war going on. If anything, it's more of a father-son tale. If you've played Gears of War 3, then you already know that humanity already won the war and are merely trying to rebuild society. That doesn't mean there aren't any action sequences. If anything, this game has some great action sequences! I wish I had a large TV with some 7.1 audio surround sound to get the full experience of the game.

The core gameplay hasn't changed much. Whether that is a good thing or not is completely up to you. I didn't see much use in the new CCC mechanic. However, whenever I did manage to use(usually in the campaign) I got this tingling sensation in my balls purely due to satisfaction. Imagine being able to pull it off in multiplayer. You'll feel like the biggest badass ever. I must also add that the weather system is a hit or miss. There are only a handful of missions that involve you being able to use the environment in a storm to take out your enemies. Nonetheless, these sections did promote some strategy, but it wasn't as challenging as I was hoping for it to be.

Trust me, these are a lot more intense than they look....
Let me also mention the visuals. This may easily be one of the best looking Xbox One games to date. I now understand why this game just couldn't be possible to develop on the Xbox 360 because it would kill the visual experience. Obviously, I've never played the PC version of the game, so I imagine it looks a trillion times better on PC.

The multiplayer has to be the best portion of Gears of War 4. There has been some changes from the Beta, but there was nothing too major. Dodgeball is my favorite to play due to how similar it is to Search & Rescue. I'm sorry, but I suck at execution where you only get one life. Just like any Gears of War game, shotguns are the way to go. If you don't use a shotgun in multiplayer, then I have no idea what to tell you other than good luck. Personally, I've never had a problem with people using shotguns in multiplayer because I kind of had to learn out of desperation how to be a relatively good shot.

We went on this lose this match in the most embarrassing way possible...

This is what sucks...
I didn't really find JD Fenix to be as interesting as his father. However, I found his friends as well as the older cast to be far more likable! I understand that I might be a bit biased due to being a Gears of War veteran, but I think the smartass protagonist has been done too much. Additionally, he just seems to take things way too lighthearted. If you played the gamed, then you'll know what I mean. He isn't a bad character by any means, but he's not the next iconic video game character that Marcus Fenix already is.

Okay, I played the game on Insane difficulty, which is why it took me a while to complete the game. It literally took me almost 17 hours in order to complete the campaign on Insane. I've played all the Gears games on Insane, so I know for a fact what it's like to play through the hardest difficulty. This is the difficulty where the problems start to show up.

This checkpoint system is bullshit. Seriously, if you get fucked in the ass due to a Drone rushing you or one of the Juvies killing you in just two hits you have to start all the way back to your last checkpoint. This doesn't make the game more difficult. It literally just causes anger due to having to start back to a checkpoint. Trust me, some of the boss battles can get difficult especially one in Act IV and lead to some of the most frustrating deaths possible. Fuck Insane. I literally sat and wondered why on Earth I would put myself through such punishment. For the love of God, please don't pop the pods. It isn't worth it.

Additionally, it just murders the immersion of the game. Why would I put myself through such difficulty when there is an interesting story lying just ahead of me? By the way, I have no idea why some reviewers are saying there are moments where you do nothing but take in the atmosphere. Man, I wish that could happen because I felt like the pacing was too inconsistent. One moment I'm done clearing enemies and the next minute here comes another wave of enemies.

For the love of God, please don't shoot the pods especially on Insane...

Speaking of waves of enemies, there are about 2-3 missions where horde elements were implemented. Trust me, these were not fun at all especially on Insane. However, I'm indifferent to horde mode, so I can't really talk shit about the mode. I put in about 40 minutes into horde mode and it just didn't appeal to me. However, I'm not going to dock it points just because I'm indifferent to it. I used to play a ton of horde mode on Gears of War 2 & 3, but that was back when I had a ton of time on my hands.

As fun as the multiplayer is, there are a few big issues with it. First off, if you want to play Core playlists it's going to take a while to actually join a match. It's annoying to have to wait like 5 minutes in order to join a game. Additionally, it's especially annoying to join a match with an uneven amount of players on each team! What kind of bullshit is that!? I'm not sure if balancing has to do with anything or maybe the player count isn't high enough for these playlists to be populated. If you really want to get into a game and don't care about being ranked, then please go to Social Quickplay.

Let me go back to the story. I know I said it was interesting and the set pieces were great, but the game feels like it ended too abruptly. If I had played the game on Normal or Causal, I could probably beat the story in under 10 hours. Seriously, this game just feels too short. I understand that the game's events take place within 24 hours, but there should at least be a satisfying conclusion.

I'm not going to spoil the ending. However, the final boss and ending were just way too underwhelming for me. Hell, I think the final boss in Gears of War Judgement was more epic than this shit final boss we got in Gears of War 4. Gears of War and Gears of War 3 easily tie when it comes to their final boss fights. They were tense as well as challenging if you were playing on a high difficulty. They could even last hours if you are struggling. The ending itself is pure sequel bate. I have no clue where the franchise heads from here, but I am still curious what happens next.

Final Thoughts
I don't understand why this game is getting 9s from a lot of reviewer sites. I'm sorry, but this is just not a 9/10 game. If I had used a number scale anymore, I would rate this an 8. 7 is way too low as this game is still pretty good. Yeah, I have no idea what that reviewer from GameSpot was on when they posted up their review of the game. I'm 100% sure it's only getting 9/10s is because it still has Gears of War in the title. Otherwise, it doesn't feel like a Gears of War game.

Final Thought: Buy it
Even though the campaign maybe short, you are still getting a bang for your buck based on the content alone. If you like to play Zombies from Call of Duty or any other game with a horde mode, then this is the game for you. Keep in mind that Gears of War has been doing this for quite some time and has managed to get to top itself every time when it come to horde mode.

Additionally, you get a code that allows you to own every Gears of War game that released back on the Xbox 360 and each of them were great games that got better each time. Well, Judgement is divisive, but it's not a terrible game as a lot of fans claim it to be.

If you do pick up the game and are a new player, please play the previous games before you jump into the campaign. If you don't want to play the campaign or get bored of it, then multiplayer is a lot better. Seriously, multiplayer will provide hundreds of hours worth of entertainment and can totally see it being supported years down the line.

If you have an Xbox One, this is a game that you should pick up. You could wait for a price drop, but I'm not sure if this game will be getting one anytime soon.

Before I close out, I plan on talking about the state of Call of Duty after the community backlash over the Infinite Warfare beta. Additionally, I want to revisit a specific game in time for Halloween and talk about how it may or may not hold up today.
Till Next Time!!

Nintendo Switch: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, I know that I've said I'm done talking about consoles. However, since the Wii U has been out longer than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 I'll make Nintendo's new console an exception,. Additionally, I need something to hold you guys off until I wrap up my Gears of War 4 review.

Even the logo is sexy to look at...

Nintendo is literally the king of having creative ideas. The Nintendo Switch is easily one of the coolest consoles that I've ever seen. A handheld/console hybrid is something you would think of in your dreams rather than it being a reality. Yeah, I guess you could consider the Wii U a handheld/console hybrid, but I don't know much people who actually were fond of using a Wii U gamepad.

Imagine being on a college campus and not having a TV in your dorm for whatever reason. You could have a handheld with the power of a console to have something to do in your down time. Maybe you really want to take shit, but don't want to leave your couch. Not a problem!

In all seriousness, I do like the idea of convenience that this console provides since I'm assuming you don't even need a TV to play it. Please, correct me if I'm wrong, so I don't look like a complete dumbass.

Of course, I have to be a bit skeptical of the console itself. First off, there has to be some kind of downgrade once the Nintendo Switch is not plugged into a TV. Maybe the quality of the graphics would go down, but this is Nintendo after all and we all know that they don't prioritize graphics.

Speaking about graphics, please don't expect the Nintendo Switch's graphics to be able to stack up with the Xbox One or PS4- let alone the Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation Pro. The console might be a bit more powerful than the Wii U, but this is something I really don't care about since I would only be playing Nintendo games on the Switch.

I must also add that Nintendo has finally learned their lesson and has a massive third-party developer list, so for those of you who don't have an Xbox One or PS4 and don't plan on getting the newer consoles then this is a good option. Additionally, Nintendo's games are almost always pure gold.

My main issue with Nintendo's new console is the release date. I feel like they are releasing it way too early. I feel that maybe they should have released it in early 2018. Why? Well, the newer consoles will be coming out and are appealing to people due to their power. However, if the Nintendo Switch is $300 or under than I would have no problem with the release date.

That's all for me today. I'll have the Gears of War 4 review sometime this week. I have midterms coming up, so I really need to study. By the way, I do know about Red Dead Redeption 2 and am looking forward to finding out more about it. Lastly, I picked up Battlefield 1 on Friday and am not sure if I should review it. So far, it's not a disappointment.

Update: My recent game pickups #3

Hey Guys, I know that I mentioned I picked up Gears of War 4 earlier this week and it's time to update the games I bought in the last month. I didn't buy a whole lot, but I would say it's more than enough for me for now.
I know a lot of these are old...
I actually got Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, and Dragon Age yesterday because I had a coupon from GameStop that allowed me to get 2 pre-owned games and 1 for me. Since I didn't want to spend more than $40, I thought these games would be a better value. I've played Dragon Age when it was free for a weekend and loved it.

I've never played The New Order and heard it was a hidden gem, so I am excited to get a chance to play it. However, I got really lucky to find a copy of the game with the cover art since my local GameStop doesn't get a whole lot of quality trade-ins.

Okay, I know about the whole Watch Dogs controversy. However, I got the game for like $13, so I'm more than happy to buy it and try it out. Besides, what do I have left to lose?

I bought Rise of the Tomb Raider sometime in September and love the game. However, I haven't got the chance to recently play it since I got stuck on a Tomb and haven't got the time to go back into the game. Once I finish up Gears of War 4, I will do my best to go back to it.

Speaking of Gears of War 4, I only got to Act III. Currently, I am playing on Insane and barely got a chance to play it until yesterday since my weekdays are just too busy for me to be playing anything. I am not going to be making an impressions post on the game, but I will be writing a review as I play it and make any edits as I see fit in order to get the review out as soon as I complete the game. Stay tuned for that.

Before I wrap up, I must add that I have a bunch of tests to study for this week, so don't expect much new posts for this week. Additionally, I'm thinking about buying a new 4K TV, so if any of you have suggestions please message me.

Friday the 13th the Game Delayed: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, it's Friday! Meaning that it's payday for a lot of us and the weekend belongs to us. I'm still at school and have work is about 2 hours. I decided to check out my usual gaming journalism sources and found some disappointing news. Friday the 13th is being delayed until 2017.

I was hoping that this was complete clickbait because I was looking forward to playing this game. Additionally, I was hoping for an October release since it's the month of horror after all. However, this is 100% true. You can check out the official announcement on the Friday the 13th Twitter page.

They better include her as a character model

If you were too lazy to check out the official announcement, then I'll just tell you what happened like you're five. Basically, more content is being added that includes a new map, playable character and story mode. If you already pre-ordered the game, then you'll be getting the story mode free. Otherwise, the price for the digital version of the game was marked up to $40.

Do I think this is all bad? Of course not! Sure, I may be disappointed that the game is being pushed back to 2017 around Spring, but I'm sure this will give the developers a hell of a lot more time to polish the game before it's released.

Keep in mind that Gun Media listened to the fans who wanted a story mode and look what happened. They actually give a shit about their fanbase and that's just honorable. I'm sure they knew this game was going to sell like hot cakes, but they decided that their priority is their fans.

However, I still have to be critical in the sense that this story mode better be replayable. Imagine if the story mode took an Alien: Isolation route. Man, this would easily make Friday the 13th one of the greatest horror video games of all time. I'm talking about the story. If the multiplayer sucks, then at the very least the story mode would be the saving grace.

Anyways, I hope you are all having a great day so far. I'm looking forward to the weekend to finally play some Gears of War 4. I'm going to try to get through as much of the story as possible, but I got a midterm coming up on the 25th.

Xbox One Hard Drive RANT!!

Hey Guys, it's time for me to go into full on rant mode. Before I go on, I must first mention that I just pre-ordered Gears of War 4 from GameStop. I'm not sure if I am going to pick up at midnight on Tuesday or pick up on Tuesday morning. Either way, it's going to take me quite a bit of time to download the game due to how big it is. It's literally just over 50GB and will be around 70-80GB by the time DLC releases for the game.

I was even going to pick up Mafia III, but I don't even have the room to download the game! I literally just have a little over 60GB on my hard drive. Additionally, I want to wait for a review from someone reliable before Mafia III due to the fact that review copies of the game were not given to anyone.

Nonetheless, I was inspired to finally say something about these stupid Xbox hard drives. I'm talking about the built-in hard drives as well as some of their licensed hard drives.

First of all, I don't understand how in the world can Microsoft even allow Xbox Ones to release with a 500GB or even 1TB hard drive!? Seriously, we are at that point in time where not even 1TB will get the job anymore if you like buying new games every couple of months or so. Imagine getting a new game every month! 1TB will be utterly useless at that point.

I get that a 500GB Xbox One would be aimed for people who don't play as many video games, but imagine what will happen once the system updates take up more than half the hard drive space. Yeah, not even for ultra casual players 500GB will just not keep up.

Some of you maybe asking: Then why don't you just buy a new hard drive instead of just bitching about it? While you do have a valid point, I just don't have the funds to be buying a new hard driver considering I'm a broke college student. I do have the funds(most of it for school), but I don't know if I will be needing to spend over $100 on a hard drive since I hardly have the time to play video games now.

You want to know why else I don't want to buy hard drives? It's pretty hard to find the amount of hard driver space I want for under $100. For the love of God, please don't buy one of these hard drives.

If you really want to buy it, then go on Amazon
Okay, this particular hard drive can also be used on Xbox 360 and can be plugged in directly into the console through a USB cable. However, to overprice the damn thing at $149.99 is just absurd. Seagate literally has a 5TB hard drive external hard drive that can be used for Xbox One games for just $130! Other than the fact it runs on its own power supply, there is nothing wrong with the 5TB hard drive. Save yourselves some money and buy the 5TB hard drive.

As video games get bigger in memory, then the need for more hard drive space increases as well. This is a problem that can be fixed, so why on Earth can't Microsoft sell Xbox One consoles with bigger hard drives? I get that it will increase the price, but at least it'll be better than spending an extra $100 down the road.
Till Next Time!!

Update: Rise of Broketober

Hey Guys, wanted to make an update post as I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I could just take a step back and start telling you guys what I'm planning to do for Broketober. Brace yourselves, this is going to be a wall of text.

Mafia III, Gears of War 4, and Battlefield 1
Mafia III is releasing on October 7th and I am super excited for the game. Honestly, I would get the game day one, but I need to see some kind of review because I will not get a game day one if it turns out to be either trash and/or a disappointment. However, after seeing some gameplay from Angry Joe I feel like Mafia III will be a great game. Additionally, I'm looking forward to the soundtrack.

Then, Gears of War 4 will be released on October 11th. Keep in mind that this is the Tuesday right after Mafia III releases. There is no doubt that I will get Gears Of War 4. The game is going to be good for sure and GameStop buyers who pre-order the game will get a coupon for $20 off any new Xbox One game.

I'm still on the fence for Battlefield 1 as there is a high possibility that the servers will be attacked and a chance that the game will end up like Battlefront.

My Own Issues
Okay guys, I'm still a student. Although I'm looking forward to a number of games coming out this month and beyond, I don't even know if I'm going to have the time to even play these games and get the most out of my playing experience. I absolutely hate rushing games especially if they are good.

I should also add that I don't have the funds to get every game that comes out of course. I still have this coupon I'm trying to get rid of from GameStop, so I'm going to end up spending more money on video games than I have to. Additionally, I got another coupon because it's my birth month after all.

Rambling
I did buy a new game recently and will tell you guys at a later date in my next game pickups post. However, that proved to be a bad idea because I'm incredibly low on space right now. I need to finish up a couple of my games that take up a ton of room on my hard drive. I've had DOOM since June and have not completed it. Say what you want, but I started the game off on a high difficulty and I got my ass kicked.

Maybe I'll get around to beating DOOM and Resident Evil Revelations 2 in order to get them off my hard drive to make some room for these new games that I will be getting. I don't feel like getting a new hard drive just yet.

That's it for me guys. I'll see you on the next post depending on what is new and give out my opinions as I usually do. Please, try not to hurt your wallets too badly in Broketober.
Till Next Time!!

Xbox Live: Free Games of October 2016- Kill me pls....

Hey Guys, Broketober is getting much closer. While the majority of us won't be able to get more than three new full-priced video games next month, it would have been cool if Xbox Live or even PlayStation Network offered games that could keep us busy for the month. While I can't speak much about PlayStation Network, I can say that Xbox Live is just screwing us over for Broketober.

Image Provided by Major Nelson's Blog

For Xbox One owners, Super Mega Baseball will be free from October 1st-31st. Then, The Escapists will be free from October 16th-November 15th.

For Xbox 360 owners, I Am Alive is free from October 1st-15th. Then, MX vs. ATV Reflex will be free from October 16th-31st.

Although I shouldn't be surprised by something like, I still am. October through December are the most important months for video games. These time frames are when the major releases come out, so there should be games that either should be discounted heavily or better quality games that should be provided for free for the Games with Gold program.

I already have college tuition payments to make, so I don't have all the money in the world to buy all these new games coming out. Black Friday is too far away for me and it's just chaos to go Black Friday shopping. Cyber Monday is also terrible for me since I still have to work and go to school.

Seriously Microsoft, let the community have a say as to which games should be free! The only game here I am actually interested in playing is I Am Alive because I actually wanted to play that game back when it was first announced and put through development hell.

GameStop has finally done something right!

Hey Guys, Broketober is upon us and it's time for your wallet to be sexually harassed to oblivion. In October, there are about four major games that I am interested in buying, which are Gears of War 4, Mafia III, Titanfall 2, and maybe Battlefield 1 if the reviews are good. If the Friday the 13th game also comes out in October, then I have no idea how I'm going to stay on my budget of under $200. I'm a poor college kid, so what the hell am I going to do?

You could get either version of the game to get the coupon

This coupon is only good for new Xbox One games that are valued at $59.99 or above. Yeah, you can get a brand new released game for $40 rather than the standard $60. However, the coupon is only valid from October 18th, 2016 and you have until November 12th, 2016 to use the coupon.

I have no idea why on Earth GameStop is deciding to do something like this. It's already rare for them to have the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Pre-Owned products, so this comes as a surprise to me.

Honestly, this is a rare exception I would make where I wouldn't mind pre-ordering. First of all, you're getting a total of 5 games for the price of one, so it's already a good deal. The $20 coupon is just the icing on the cake.

Even though people talk shit about GameStop, this is actually a respectful move. Personally, I might use this coupon for Infinite Warfare, so I only have to pay $60 to get the Modern Warfare remaster. Maybe I'll use it to get Dishonored 2. Well, only time can tell.

Please Pre-Order Battlefield 1 with Caution

Hey Guys, Battlefield 1 is coming within the next few weeks and it's time to have an "adult" conversation of the game. Unfortunately, I will not be having a Battlefield 1 Impressions Post because I will be having some of my impressions of the beta in this post in order to drive my point across on this post.

If you haven't heard, PoddleCorp actually took down Blizzard's servers today. They supposedly quit earlier this week, but I guess these guys are like cockroaches. The servers are back up now, but they didn't exactly let this slide this easily as they posted this...

Image Provided by Twitter

There are only two possible outcomes that could come out of this. One, EA could get its shit together and beef up its security by the time Battlefield 1 releases, so the servers could handle all the traffic that it's expected to have to begin with and to make sure the servers are stable and free from any kind of security breach from assholes like PoodleCorp. The second outcomes is that EA doesn't do anything ans allows for the servers to be attacked by hackers and flooded by the amount of players trying to play the game.

I'm aware that this has been said a million times already, but don't pre-order Battlefield 1 if you don't want to deal with the inevitable server issues. The beta was already played by 13 million players, so there is a good chance that the amount of people on the servers will be stupidly high. Must I also add that this is on a Friday?

I know that as soon as I come home from school and work on a Friday I want to pop in Battlefield 1 and start playing in order to unwind. I would be pissed off if I find out that I spent $60 on a game that I can't even play!

I'm not pre-ordering the game. From what I played from the beta, there still needs some improvement to the spawn system and weapons. Seriously, there are weapons that need to be more nerfed than others and the bugs still need to be cleaned up.

If you are going to be pre-ordeirng Battlefield 1-which I still discourage-, please listen to this piece of advice. DON'T OPEN YOUR GAME OR PUT IN OVER 2 HOURS INTO THE GAME. I know this may sound like the stupidest advice someone can give especially if it's your money. However, this is a time where you need to let the hype die down and actual use some critical thinking skills. This is the time where you need to look at reviews and to see if there are any server issues going on.

Don't look at major game journalism sites because their reviews are made before the game is made public. Please, check out reviews from ordinary folk or even trustworthy reviewers on YouTube. I know this may sound biased, but I trust Angry Joe whenever I want to make a serious decision on buying a new game. If you are aware that the game is not going to be to your liking or the game is just plain unplayable, then you can get your money back.

If you don't want to return your game, then that's okay. However, your choices will have consequences if the game does end up disappointing you. This is EA we are talking about. Anything is possible at this point.

I may take a bullet and buy the game in order to tell you as soon as possible if the game is playable and if it's good, but I am still conflicted because my trust in EA is incredibly low.

Should you buy the Battlefield 1 Xbox One S Bundle?

Hey Guys, this was all announced yesterday, but I had to postpone this post until today because I had homework to do and work following it, so I just didn't have the time. However, it's time to go over each bundle letting you know what you get out of it and if you should buy it or not. I should also add that each bundle comes with a 1 month EA Access membership.

First off, there are two 500GB bundles.

The console itself is a standard Xbox One S with a 500GB hard drive. Physically, it's a beautiful looking console. However, I'm already turned off by the fact that it has a 500GB hard drive. It's only $299, so it wouldn't hurt to spend a little extra to add a more spacious hard drive to the console.

Keep in mind that this is available for pre-order. Technically, you're getting Battlefield 1 for free since $299 is the typical price for a 500GB Xbox One S. You're not taking a risk if you don't own an Xbox One. This especially work for those of you who are on a budget and wouldn't mind pay a little more for a hard drive upgrade. Hell, this even has a 4k UHD Blu-ray player, so if you're a movie junkie as well then it's totally worth the price.

Here is the other 500GB that I believe is only for the US,

My thoughts are pretty much identical to the previous console, but  the fact that you can only get this in the US in Microsoft Stores and Wal-Mart kind of sucks. This one is totally based on taste solely on the color. However, do buy this if you want to have it as a collector's item since it's an exclusivity.

Now, the final bundle.

I'm on the fence with this one. Although it has a bigger hard drive and comes with the Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, it's still a big risk at $349. 1TB still isn't enough for those of you who buy new games regularly, but it's okay if you buy new games once in a while.

Most importantly, Battlefield 1 still hasn't released! We aren't sure if it's going to be good or not. Even though we got a beta, it's still not representative of the final version of the game. Remember Battlefront? That also had a beta and look what happened! Seriously, we can have this whole pre-order debate some other time, but buy this bundle at your own risk.

In all honesty, please buy the 500GB model if you don't already have an Xbox One or Xbox One S and buy a much larger hard drive. Just remember, this is all for a game we should be skeptical about despite the massive hype over it.

Fallout 4 Nuka World Impressions

Hey Guys, sorry for the lack of posts recently. I figure it's time to release my impressions of the Nuka World DLC I have so far. Keep in mind that this isn't a review. I have no clue when I will have the review up because I need to find the time to play the game. I made a good amount of progress, but I have yet to finish it.
This is the first thing you will see when you first enter Nuka World
Let me start off by saying that this DLC doesn't waste any time and gets right into the action. I don't want to spoil anything, but let's say you have to go through a jigsaw-like maze in order to actually enter Nuka-World. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world especially towards the end, so I recommend you stock up on ammo and Stimpacks.

Although I'm still early in the quest line for Nuka World, I feel like there is too much being thrown at you at once. As soon as you meet up with the other Raider factions, then you're bombarded with quests. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but to have so much to do at the same time is just way too much. Additionally, you'll be confused as to which quest is important to the main quest line.

Minor spoilers but you are given a collection tasks that involves you going around the park looking for Star Cores to power up the park or something like that. I should also add that they are not marked. The area they are located at are marked, but the actual Star Cores are not, so you have to play detective in order to find them. Honestly, I feel like that's just cheap! It was probably done this way in order to add more to the total length of the story.

However, I will admit that it's fun exploring this park. It may not be as big as Far Harbor, but there definitely is a lot more life and activities in Nuka World. It is confusing to navigate through the park. I honestly have no idea where to find a vendor, so I'm stuck without any Stimpacks. It does take some time to at least get familiar with the layout of the park, so you'll have to do a lot more exploring on knowing where the hell you're going rather than just doing the quests.

I can't say much about the DLC as I still need to complete it. I will have a review up for the game once I have time for it as I need to complete Witcher 3 first.

Update: Fallout 4 and Battlefield 1 Beta

Hey Guys, Nuka World released yesterday for Fallout 4. However, I wasn't able to play it yesterday because I was at school and came home late from work. I downloaded it last night and got a chance to play it this morning. I will have a review of it once I finished the game and put in an extra couple of hours in order to do the extras the DLC has to offer.

Before I actually started off playing the DLC, I checked my e-mail yesterday morning as part of my regular routine to see this...
I made sure to not include my code...

I started downloading it yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to play it until last night because I had to stay late for work once again. I'm not sure when the beta is going to end, but I know I will have time on the weekend to get a chance to spend time on the beta.

As usual, I will try to put in about 8+ hours before I release my impressions post on the beta because right now it is buggy as hell. I was fortunate enough to get into a server, so I would hate to see how bad the servers would be on Friday or on the weekend.

Xbox Live: Free Games of September 2016- Slightly better....

Hey Guys, it's been a little over a week since I posted anything. The reason why I haven't posted in like a week is because I just started college/university. I've also been busy with work, so it was kind of hard to find the time to actually post anything. Actually, I have some pretty long break between classes, so I do have time to post, but I use that time to study, do homework, or catch up on sleep.

Anyways, I'm sorry if I made you bored with my real life, but I had to let the people who genuinely want to know about my lack of posting. Now, let me continue on with the Games with Gold for September.

For Xbox One owners, Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be free for the whole month of September. Then, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China will be free from September 16th to October 15th.

For Xbox 360 owners, Forza Horizon will be free from September 1st-15th. Then, Mirror's Edge will be free from September 16th-30th.

Onto my thoughts, as usual.

Since Earthlock is a new game, I guess I should give it the benefit of the doubt. However, I am not interested in it. Hell, I'm busy enough with Witcher 3, so I wouldn't even be able to put in the time to play the game. Honestly, they should have picked another game. After seeing reviews of Assassin's Creed Chronicles, I'm turned off. Additionally, I'm not a fan of a side-scrolling Assassin's Creed game. It just wouldn't be the same.

I'm indifferent to racing games, so I can't really put an opinion on Forza. Mirror's Edge is a great game, but I already own the game, so I am not happy about it. However, if you never played Mirror's Edge then you owe it to yourself to play it once it's available to download.

Before I wrap up today, I would like to say that I am going to do my best to bring out a review for the upcoming Nuka World DLC. I am not promising I will be doing it, but I know I will be downloading it since I do have the season pass.

Metal Gear Survive: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, I am about a day late with this, but I just watched this trailer yesterday and didn't get a chance to write about it. I wanted to write about the No Man's Sky controversy, but I never played the game and have a passion for Metal Gear, so I decided to write about Metal Gear Survive.

Just the obvious connection to The Phantom Pain is sickening...

What can I say that hasn't been said already? Seriously, there is almost nothing good to say about this pathetic excuse for a game. I'm ashamed to even give my opinions on this game because I am only drawing more attention to it.

Either Konami has run out of ideas or just needs a way to earn a quick buck. Regardless, they thought this new "game" of theirs would sell just based on the concept and the game.

Zombies? Is that the best they could come up with? How about a second Metal Gear Rising? However, I prefer they don't even make another Metal Gear game because the franchise is pretty much over with. Well, it's technically been over since Metal Gear Solid IV, but I guess prequels are okay. I expected Konami to make pinball machines, but I had no idea they would fall back to a zombie game(let alone a zombie Metal Gear game).

Essentially, this is just Call of Duty Zombies mode, but with different variations of zombies and with the Metal Gear name. Horde mode only works if done in different ways that doesn't seem so monotonous. However, zombie horde mode is just overdone. Additionally, it's Konami, so anything they really do is just awful.

Konami recently announced that the game will not be full priced. However, watch it be like $50. I will only give a little respect if the game is way under $15. Even if the game were reasonably priced, I wouldn't even play it because it's not done by Kojima. Metal Gear will not be the same with Kojima. Well, Metal Gear Rising did great, but I'm positive we're not getting a sequel to the game.

Honestly, I would rather let the franchise die peacefully rather than just suffer at the hands of a god awful company that betrays its employees.

Battlefield 1 Gamescom Trailer: My Thoughts

Hey Guys, I know I'm writing this pretty late, but I was at work at the time this trailer was released. Additionally, I still have a boner after watching it, so I think I need to see a doctor. Anyways, if you have not yet seen the trailer please go check it out.
Just admire the blaze...

First of all, the flamethrower is just awesome! How long has it been since a flamethrower has been used in a multiplayer game besides Call of Duty? Regardless, it's going to be downright terrifying to deal with someone with a flamethrower in close-quarters combat. It's still good for crowd control nonetheless.

I'm actually excited that battleships are going to be usable in the game or at least I believe they can be used. It would especially useful to get the upper hand on the losing side of a team. However, I'm pretty sure it's just a mortar on a bigger scale, but it's still going to cause mayhem on a bigger scale.

Not sure how horse combat is going to work. It's probably just going to have two passengers with only one being able to actually use a weapon.

I even noticed that there is a strong emphasis on the air combat. Personally, I am not very good at air combat. I can fly a jet and helicopter, but I am not good when it comes to actually attacking or making the proper evasive maneuvers. I hope that there will be no lock-on features in the game for air combat in order to get a realistic approach to air combat. Imagine how long it's going to take for people to get skilled at manually aiming.

I'm not too sure how to feel about elite soldiers. That one elite soldier that was featured in the trailer looked incredibly powerful. If a sniper couldn't take him out, then standard weapons aren't going to do anything. I know that it's similar to Battlefront, but I've never played the full game, so I wouldn't know.

Before I end this, I must add that the open beta starts on August 31st. People who registered for Battlefield Insider may be able to get access to the beta a bit earlier.
