Should you buy the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy?

Hey Guys, there is a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy that has been listed for $30. Sounds like a great deal, right? Well, I am going to be talking about this in the most neutral way possible.

Keep in mind that the Stimulus Pack for Modern Warfare 2 is the only DLC available in this entire trilogy bundle. Additionally, this is only available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As of May 14th, there is no Call of Duty game that is backwards compatible for the Xbox One, so this is only available for last-gen consoles.

I can't count how many times I said this, but if you were to release a bundle like this then every bit of DLC should be included! These games are really old now, so why would it matter if every DLC was given for free? I understand that people still play these games online to this day, but that's exactly why the DLC should be free, so the games could have a wider group of players.

Personally, I loved the campaigns for each of these games especially Modern Warfare. I think it is a great trilogy in terms of the story, but the fact that there is a severe lack of DLC included in this bundle is what is preventing this from being a great bundle.

So should you buy this? If you want to experience the story of Modern Warfare and never got the chance to, I would say pick it up. Otherwise, do not buy this if you are planning on going back into the multiplayer since most DLC is not included.

Seriously, Infinity Ward are a bunch of cheap bastards. If you can get your hands on Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition for $20, which has over a $100 worth of DLC included, then I'm 100% positive that Infinity Ward is more than capable of giving every bit of DLC for each game in this bundle.

Black Ops 3 will not have a campaign on Last-Gen consoles: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Hey Guys, it's been recently announced that Call of Duty Black Ops III will be lacking a single player campaign on PS3 and Xbox 360. I know some of you may be angry about this, but I'm pretty sure most Call of Duty players really won't care. However, there are pros and cons that I believe should be addressed about this.

The Good: I think this would encourage more people to actually buy the current-gen version of this game. It sure doesn't warrant buying a new current-gen console, but Call of Duty: Black Ops III is best experienced on a PS4, PC, and Xbox One. There really is no reason to be buying this game on last-gen console unless you don't have a current-gen console or don't want to pay full price for the game for any number of reason. You'll still have multiplayer and Zombies, so be happy about that. Did I forget the $50 price tag? I believe it should be much lower than that to be honest.

The Bad: According to a blog post by Activison, "The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware". I wish I could facepalm so much harder. Everybody knew that the 4 player co-op mode would not be possible on last-gen consoles ever since the game was announced, but did it really mean that the campaign had to be removed? You could still play Borderlands by yourself and it really wouldn't effect the story. I guess Activision was too cheap to make sure the game's campaign can still function even if a player is playing on his/her own.

The Ugly: This game is no where near the technical hardware limits that Grand Theft Auto V or even The Phantom Pain have reached. Black Ops III is not really a next-gen looking game. Sure it may have a buttery smooth framerate, but it doesn't mean that it's really that beautiful. The game looks good, but not THAT good.

Honestly, I wish I could say more, but then I'll just be rambling. However, I will say that last-gen users have to understand that they are getting left behind each year when a new game releases. I anticipate by next-year that most AAA games will not be releasing on last-gen consoles and most of the games on last-gen will probably be kids games and sports games.

Dear Last-Gen users, please stop complaining

Hey Guys, this is something that I wanted to talk about for some time. As a matter of fact, this is something I wanted to talk about since Mortal Kombat X was cancelled on Xbox 360 and PS3. What I want to talk about is last-gen console support.

If you didn't know already, Mortal Kombat X was cancelled on Xbox 360 and PS3 due to the fact that Warner Bros. Interactive just couldn't get the game up to standards to its current-gen counterparts. Should anyone really be surprised? Rockstar was lucky enough to even get Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox 360 and PS3! I'm only surprised by the fact that it took this long for Mortal Kombat X to even get axed.

Even if they did release it, the game would receive this massive graphics downgrade. Don't believe me? Have you even seen The Phantom Pain on last-gen consoles? The game is playable, but the framerate is just awful. This is a game that has to be played on current-gen consoles to get the best possible experience.

Guys, last-gen really does need to die because it makes it harder for developers to try to make their games as equal to the current-gen consoles as possible. Last-gen consoles have had a good run, but it's going to have to end eventually.
